They were ****ing dreadful. Dermie was dead silent in the 4th quarter!!
But i must say ... i like Denis Commetti, but today he came out with one of the worst calls i have heard. He said words to the effect that Essendon have Brisbane to thank for Collingwood's performance. This is an absolute joke. They hade to extra days rest!!
Hate how they constantly made excuses for Collingwood whilst once again pumping up Buckley's tyres!

I thought the commentary was exciting...great callers!!!....Cometti and the excitable other guy (THE GENERAL!!!) added to the atmosphere. Dermie and Lyons were surprisingly succinct. And you have to laugh at Gazza applauding some great plays)
More free flowing, enthusiastic and enjoyable than some (cough,cough) CH9 calls have been.
The bad news is that CH9 Sydney yanked it off after the last play....no medal no cheering no nothing......My guests who had never really watched footy before and were really into it, admiring the pace and skills, were so incensed they phoned up and yelled at CH 9!!!

Personally, I thought they were both pro-Collingwood.
They were singing Collingwoods praises all through-out the game and the silly thing was, Essendon were in front and playing the better football.

Actually, Dermie did our game on the weekend, and he is just as biased as McGuire.
When goals were sailing through by Brisbane, Dermie was telling us how great the Dogs full-backs were.
Eventually, I had to stop listening because violence was starting to become my train of thought.

Yes, got to agree TD, that comment *****ed me off too. Besides, they did nothing in the 2nd half against the Lions so they couldn't have been too tired from that game!!!

Has anyone else noticed the slighly "racist" comments made quite regularly by Dermie?
He said the other week that Andrew Macleod had the same "suntan" as another Aboriginal footballer who was playing that day, and I think it was last year that he tried to justify confusing Troy Cook and Dale Kickett based on the fact that they were both... um.. Freo footballers.
Listen next time he is on the telly. he can't help himself.
