Chris Isaak - wicked game

thought he said 'i want to fall in love with you' as opposed to 'dont want to' as a kid

Seal - thought he said 'grave' instead of 'grey'
i.e compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grave

she moves in mysterious ways by U2 --

Shamu the Mysterious Whale (this also was as a kid)

Shamu the Mysterious Whale :D Thats gotta be the play of the day..

Have a mate, whose sister always used to sing: "You're a well and a bob, you are a well and a bob, hoo hoo hoo" instead of 'You're the one that I want, you are the one I want" from Grease.
Almost couldn't bring ourselves to tell her!! :D

If I ever start a U2 tribute band I will call it "Shamu the mysterious whale" - on a similar vein of mammalian confusion there is always the classic Go Gos "Alex the Seal [ie Our lips are sealed] There was a GO GOs cover band called "Alex the Seal"

I always get that line wrong... so i usually go something like "In his da da let ev de dum"

Knew a guy who got confused with "RATM - Renegades of Funk" singing instead of (we're the renegades of funk) it was (when a redhead wants a ********).

There are plenty of others just can't think right now... when i was younger i used to sing (Nobody told me there'd be days like these) as (nobody told me there'd be blackies) was never the same song after reading the lyrics :o

There's a RATM song (cant remember the title) but at the end Zach screams
"Just stare"..........To me it sounded like he was screaming the ex Man U centre back name Jaap Staam

That'd be "No Shelter" Maybe Zach is a Man U fan

My little sister used to sing Kim Wildes "Chequered Love" as
... whooooaaa ... chicken loaf !!!

A kid at my mums school, when singing the national antem exclaimed:
"our land abounds in nature strips ... "

Cheap wine and a female goat. ( Chisel )

.. not that there's anything wrong with that per se.

:D That almost beats Shamu the mysterious whale

There is a song by at the drive-in called "Transatlantic Foe" that says "Pet sounds filling pet peeve voids", that many, many people have confused as "Hats off to the Backstreet Boys" :o

There are many ATDi lyrics which are misinterepreted.

I had a friend who thought the chorus of Elton John - Tiny Dancer was "Hold me closer Tony Danza", and another friend (they really were friends, I swear!) who thought the line of The Strokes - Is This It that goes "I was sitting right behind oh dear can't you see, it's them it's not me" was "I was sitting right behind them Richard heads (lame I know, but I fear the angry mod's wrath and I couldn't think of another way) you see, it's them it's not me". I recommend listening to the second one, it's not as stupid as it looks in text form :P

Off the top of my head, I can think of:

One Love - Bob Marley
"Give thanks and praise to the Lord, and I will feel all right"

I interpreted it as: "Lets break the law, and I will feed all night"

I heard a frash-metal song on PBS last night called "Stigmata" by a band called Kalabun? I'm pretty sure there lyrics were

"Roger Binni, is stuck on my shelf."

which makes it a strange song.

What's My Age Again - Blink

"I took her out, it was a friday night, I walked along/alone, to get the feeling right"

When it's actually,

"I wore cologne" :(
