After watching tonites game is it possible for us to play maca-Dawson-SNOS
in our best back six?

Personally, I think definitely.IMO a fit SNOS would've given us that option of shifting SNOS onto Hawkins and taking him out of the game.

After tonites game I think SNOS is our best gorilla minder.

Not possible unless Mcphee is replaced.
An on current form doesnt deserve to be dropped.

Silvagni is our 2nd best defender imo.
Him an Mcpharlin should be our 2 key backs.

Ross rates Dawson ahead of Silvagni due to watching him play an perform pretty well over a number of years.
Until Silvagni can prove he is better in training or WAFL he wont change that opinion.
With Silvagni playing forward in WAFL it looks highly unlikely we will see Silvagni down back this year without injuries :(

Mcphee,MJ,Duffield etc all provide more run an carry from backline than Silvagni so i cant see him replacing them.

I could comfortably see SNOS replace the likes of Mayne, Pearce etc. obviously not like for like but he'd have played a solid role for us tonight. I was happy with McPhee's game, 1 or 2 brain fades but it's the 1st game of the season and once we're in full swing and full of confidence he's vital to our starting 22.

Dawson has been and will be a very very goo dplayer for us. i think we can have all three in the side. ideally id like to see dawson at full back, silvagni at center half back and mcpharlin doing the dustin fletcher, matthew scarlett role where he can just be third man up all the time

Not sure on how it all fits, but I thought Dawson was really really good last night. Super impressed by his attack on the footy and his one-on-one defense.

He's got a lot of strength in that skinny body.

Loved his aggression. Seems much cleaner and on the whole a better decision maker than a lot of the Aints supporters gave him credit for.

Dawson attack on the ball was great, but he got caught so many times leaving his opponent and was slow to react.

I saw two occasions where we had 2 Freo players contesting a mark and Dawson decided to join the pack rather than hang back and watch the Geelong players stream away out the back with the drop of the ball.

Ross mentioned in the presser about players being caught out of position and as soon as he said that I thought of Dawson immediately.

Silvagni has great footy smarts and knows when to attack the pack and when to drop in the hole. He chooses to mark rather than spoil, where I don't see Dawson ever doing that. Plus Dawson is more of a liability when he plays the man and not the ball and gives away silly frees.
