...Just searching for some educated opinions on which of the two games are better, as I am thinking about buying one of the suckers soon. Please inform me on graphics, reality, sound, play options, and basically what you thought was sweet

Did someone from Microsoft tell you that? It blows when you compare it to Madden and ESPN.


But back to the general question, Madden 2004 is the better of the 2, improves on the gameplay and owner mode adds to the experience. I do like Madden but think ESPN Football actually has it's measure now. Gameplay is great and the presentation is more polished, in fact it's probably best I've ever seen.

I've been a regular since Madden 98, and every year it blows me away how it keeps getting better and better.

Madden 2004 definitely kix a$$

From the graphics to the plays to the commentary, even the cheerleaders dancing at the half !!! it's the best maden so far

whatever you do don't listen to this guys advice. In fact, its the complete opposite. Fever 2004 is terrible.

Go for Madden 2004 over 2003. 2004 has the new playcall feature using the right thumbstick to give you more control over your players. It also has the biggest and most indepth franchise/owner mode ever. Its huge. Gameplay is tight.
ESPN NFL Football comes out end of November, is online for both xbox and ps2, and has all the ESPN animations and features like Sports Centre. The sound is tops and it has better atmosphere than Madden. Gameplay is good, but the running game is a little too strong this year. You won't be disappointed with either ESPN or Madden 2004. Fever is a simplistic NFL game. The player models are poor, there aren't many animations, the playbooks are really small compared to Madden. If you don't know much about NFL, Fever is aight cos its cheap, but I wouldn't touch it.
 
IMO, ESPN football is by far the best NFL game made to date. I had it imported, and would have to say that Madden has been completely left in the dust this time round. No competition.

The NFL Fever series is utter crap.
