Magin elevated off rookie list

J. Williams, A. Lee, S. Gumbleton, D. Chartres and D. Dick have also failed to get a run with the seniors in the home and away season.

I do hope Magin is thrown in the deep-end this weekend and gains the exposure necessary for his development. Even if it is the only game he gets this year, have a crack mate, best of luck!

THats pretty incredible really. Gumby has played last year, I don't think Lee will make it. So Williams, Hooker, Hocking and Magin aside, and the other two rookies, that is almost everyone having tasted AFL football. Can't be too many other teams with that sort of stat, lol. Oh well, hopefully it all bodes well for the future.

Good luck to him. Personally hoped he wouldn't get a game but due to our precarious position we have no choice but to elevate him. Would have much preferred to see Hocking or Hislop play.
Wish him the best of luck and that he makes me regret my words. Well done on getting elevated Rhys:thumbsu:

So when Reimers and Jetta have been inside the centre circle for ball ups they have been playing on the wing or flank have they ?

If your referring to a ball up after a goal has been scored or to start a quarter, then you've just answered your own question. ;)

Maybe you had better take more notice of who actually contest the ball ups at various stages of the game.;) There have been various stages this year where they have been used in the middle for a short stint.

Um, if there is a ball up in their area of the ground, of course they're going to be in the vicinity of the ball up.
Jetta hasn't played in the middle all year. Reimers may have once or twice and that's being generous.

I have not said Magin will play a lot of time in the middle but he will spend a few center bounces in there if he plays. He is a midfielder so he will get a little exposure to playing in the midfield. It is not a sudden change or will it be for any great length of time.

Ok, so we agree on one thing. Yes he is a midfielder, not convinced he is an inside midfielder. Outside mid or wingman.

As far as my knowledge of Bendigo goes i have seen only seen 6 games this year so far but in those Magin has had a crack at the centre bounces. He has not spent a lengthy period of time in the middle but he has been in there at various stages.
I dont know why you even mentioned endurance as at no stage was i suggesting he spend lengthy periods of time on the ball. He would probably on go in to the middle for a centre bounce and a short run on the ball (no more than 2 or 3 minutes) once per quarter. The rest of the time would be spent on the bench or like you said at half forward/forward pocket.

2 or 3 minutes on the ball.

This can go on and on. We'll just have to learn to disagree and agree on this one.

Wrong on this one, dustbin. Leroy has been in at the centre bounces at different stages, which to my mind qualifies as midfield?

i think you may be wrong on this one too. magins ability in heavy traffic to find space and some time to dispose efficiently is a classic sign of an inside mid. he can play both roles, in the way mercuri could. he doesn't have the physique to get hammered in the packs, nor the fitness base to maintain it, but both of those will come with a preseason or two, and in the meantime his style will allow him to do it. don't get me wrong, he is some way off having a decent impact at senior level, but he's not a simple outside mid.

Ok, pre Davey injury, maybe a little. Post Davey injury, no. That's my fault for over exgagerrating. Sorry about that.

I'm wrong cause I gave my opinion on him being at this stage an outside mid/wingman for the reasons you mentioned (Fitness and Body shape).

Ok, I'm tired of arguing with people on the same team as me.

Good luck Rhys with whatever position you play. :thumbsu:
