Funny you should say that - I'm seriously thinking that he'll be at Collingwood next year.

Not sure who we could offer though, but hopefully it involves Woewodin...

And besides, we've even got a spare No.9 guernsey sitting in the cupboard! ;)

He is contracted till 2007 , he's had a poor 2004 but I am more than happy that he is coach of the pies and I trust he will make the appropriate changes at the end of this year so that we can improve for 2005.
I can't predict what my or others reaction will be if we don't make the finals next year as there could be extenuating circumstances why we don't , other than the coaching not being up to standard.
Wow 2007. You say you are happy.
You have just made every other club's supporters jump with joy.
Bravo Eddie bravo.
Three more years of mediocrity.
Could you possibly extend the contract to 2010? Pleeeeease!!!!!

You are an absolute dope.

I'm assuming you're a girl going by your username, and your comments confirm my thoughts.

If not......then you are one stupid boy.

This is probably getting off topic a bit, but seeing as though the question has been asked, what about A.Rocca? Hawthorn could do with a big bloke up forward.

I would be loathe to lose him, but if you are going to attract someone like Crawford, the usual BK, O'bree, Mcgough offers just wont be anywhere good enough. If Collingwood are to secure a name recruit, guys like this are the ones other clubs will be after.

I'll probably be howled down, especially by Collingwod fans, but any thoughts?

all the crap that is spilling out of MM's gob at the moment is obviously a ruse to deflect attention away from their onfield failings.................................wotz he gunna be like next year if the pies dont make the 8 again?

I don't really rate the pies squad. Some of their better players are starting to age while the next group haven't quite got there yet. I also think they need a fresh injection of pace and talent. Too many plodders.

Yep, fair call.

I'd hate to see Pebbs go, as powerhouse forwards are as rare as hen's teeth these days, but like you said, the usual offers won't be good enough.

I'd still offer Woey and a 2nd rounder for him, but I don't think they'll be too satisfied with that.

Rocca and a 2nd rounder for Crawford...........very tough one.

I don't really like him, but I think he is a good coach. Why you would want to get rid of him after he got you into back-to-back Grand Finals with a pretty crappy list is beyond me.

Malthouse will be given the heave ho by the end of 2006. Or possibly 2005 if the pies have another disaster season.

From there, he will coach a small victorian team for a couple of years following the same old formula: play above themselves, then fall back down to the cellar.
Then he will retire from coaching.

He is a good coach, but his inconsistancy ruins his credibility after a few years. Its a repeating pattern.

The big question is, who will coach the pies in 2006/07. Will they go after a big name again ?

Whats the bet that the pies get 6 interstate trips next year as "punishnent" for MM running off at the mouth?

Nah it will be for not performing.

They do deserve two trips to Perth next year.

Swap premierships for grand final losers, Collingwood is about where West Coast was in the late nineties. He can't lift that club back again. Eddie wants to get him on the coffee with the AFL hierachy but the show is over.

Eddie will sack Mick next year and appoint himself as coach after turning down the chance to run for governer of California.
The imcumbent has a four year term and "if it bleeds" was originally an Essendon problem.

I'd love Mick at Hawthorn - the situation is customised for him to come in and run a complete overhaul.

collingwood please sack him.

ah optimism.........the most conniving of thoughts............especially when one's aspirations & abilities are confused!

You ask for an opinion, when you get it you bag it.

Why don't you just ask the question then give us the answer and we can all start responding to another topic - it will save us all a heap of time.
