Well I've read that vidic's replacement is already at the club (Johnny Evans). Bit concerned if that's how they're going to go with it.

Just keeps getting worse, lost for words, we did everything possible yet still couldn't win.

Sick of Moyes saying "we were unlucky" or "we deserves more", just go out there and get the job done FFS. Fulham had 2 chances and score both, we have 25 and score 2.

The players have to have a good hard look in the mirror, just not performing to the level required.

Gonna have to settle for a 10th place finished.

Problem with Moyes is he only knows mid-table shite. So he is actually doing his job beautifully but it is not the one he was hired to do.

Games that used to be bread and butter are now much more difficult than they should be. This is not the MUFC way. Something needs to change.

I would however swap Young with Janu.

This NEEDS to happen. I dont care if hes younger or we are carefully managing him, he delivers more consistently than young and is twice the player already.

Also what was I saying about Vidic not working well with our CBs this year? what the **** was that first goal all about, Vidic just wander into no mans land and lets Fulham stroll right through the ****ing middle of the park. Even the 2nd goal, doesnt look over his shoulder to mark the only other Fulham player in the box, but instead wander into a central location in front of De Gea.

For a player that was so good at one stage, his awareness has been absolutely shocking this year, and you wouldnt think so being captain, but his communication has been non existent. There is just no chemistry and structure when he plays, which is odd considering he's be the rock of a very successful defence for so many years.

People wont agree but I think Evans and Smalling has looked our best defensive partnership this year and worked in tandem well. Evans just needs to stay on the ****ing park. Jones and Evans also put in some very rock solid games at the start of the year and looked promising, but getting those 2 fit at the same time will be once a blue moon:confused:

If Rio was never in Moyes' plans, makes me wonder why we didnt go through with the Garay transfer.

Don't understand why we didn't really go after this game. We really had nothing to lose, yet a win could have set up the back end of the season.

Instead we had that boring crap.

It was a piss poor effort.

Top 4 was gone a month ago, we are 11pts from 4th, there's absolutely no way in hell we are going to get in. All sides currently in the 4 are capable of winning the title and I can't see any dropping so many points with only 12 games to go.

Just put a line through this season, get rid of the duds in the side (there are plenty of them), then reload next season.

I wonder why we could not have this sort of resolve defensively all season. If you don't concede you don't lose games and we never really looked troubled at the back.

If we get this right we are half way to becoming a good side again

Yeah this was my positive out of the game as well, it's the best we've looked defensively all season. It was good to see Rio and Vidic play together aswell.

Vidic looked a lot more comfortable and his normal self when partnered up with Rio after half time, just doesnt seem to enjoy any other partnership of late. Looked on edge and clumsy in the first half.

Smalling is taking little steps and improving every week, just being on the park and staying fit is obviously doing a lot more for him. Reckon once we settle down and get our act together going into next season he's going to be an important figure for us in defence.

Still think we need to get Smalling and Jones fit and playing CB together as this is why they were bought. They are young and learning the game but you can't learn how to form a partnership if one day your RB, the next your DM and never paired together for any length of time.

Given this season is shot it might be a good time to give them a run together because honestly given that CL is done do we really want to play Europa?

Yeah agreed. At the beginning of the season Jones/Smalling played 1 or 2 games together and looked comfortable. I think they pair well, the 6ft4 giant of Smalling who reads the ball well and has a bit of toe to him. Jones the all rounder who can do it all really both in attack and defence, relishes the contest and isnt afraid to put his body on the line.

Unfortunately with Fellaini's lackluster performances and then injury, Jones had to fill in at CDM which isnt his best position by a long stretch, as he has very little creativity and can only really work stop his direct opponent, meaning we essentially go one down in the midfield already and it puts a huge burden on a Carrick or Cleverly etc.

Many of you will disagree, but I think our defence will be fine with the likes of Evans, Smalling and Jones. They put on some solid performances towards the beginning of the season and will only continue to get better. Its the wingbacks that are the problem, needing a replacement for Evra who leaves a lot to be desired defensively and decent cover for the always injured Rafael.

Don't disagree at all. Evans has had a great couple of seasons filling in and while he has made a blunder here or there what defenders don't?

Evra is cooked, even this morning the amount of times he tracked back at half pace annoyed me even once I saw a midfielder sprint over to cover the gaping hole he had left while he loped along.

And yes Rafa is a good player.....when he plays....

That was the big knock on Evans, he would play well all game, but then make 1 or 2 huge blunders which left you shaking your head. As he has grown older and played more games he's removed these brain fades from his game and become a very solid and very much underrated CB. He is another one that just needs to stay on the ****ing park.

Yeah Evra's tracking back especially is so frustrating to watch. I noticed a few times this morning where Mata had to some soo ridiculously deep to cover his ass. Fancy having your most creative player pretty standing on the last line out wide. Maybe once or twice yeah, but he should be sitting further forward, acting as our counter attacking outlet, not doing Evra's job.
