I have a little challenge for those in the carlton board. i want to know the statistics of Marc Murphy over both 2004 and 2005 Victoria Metro state championship games. He played 6 in total over the 2 years. Also if you can identify the amount of times he featured in best 6 would be great.

Thanks :)

some good stats there, 2005 he spent less time FWD

i have heard that he turned down brisbane as he wanted to play under denis pagan, he grew up as a north fan and holds denis is very high regard.

A Kangaroos' supporter who isn't bitter about Dennis leaving the Roos? He'd be the first....

MOre damaging with the ball than Scott West.

For me personally.......i cannot stop thinking of Cousins when i watch him.

As good as Luke Power is I would want more than that with pick 1, however I doubt whether it is an accurate comparison anyway.

not ability...style.

I am not the only person to make that comparision.

the Luke Power comparision has been made about Xavier Ellis, which I agree with. This is the first time I've seen Murphy compared to Power.

well I cant speak about what other people think however, I dont know how you could compare Power and Ellis when Ellis is 187cm and Power is 178cm.

I think the ellis and power comparision is based out of their similarities in looks (ie hair).

And the cousins comparision with Murphy because of the f/s link (although that isnt going to happen now).

Murphy plays like Cousins. Hard runner. Quick but not lightning. Good at everything but nothing stands out. Similar height. Murphy is perhaps a better extractor of the ball than Cousins but both are complete players. Only time will tell if Murphy can build his body up like Cousins has and still maintain his pace and whether he can achieve the sort of aerobic fitness Cousins has.

Ellis plays like a Dal Santo. Clever. Evasive. Finds space. Very good kick.
Not accountable on what I saw at half back. Lets his bloke lead him to it.

Based on what I have seen this year that would be my reading of it. The U18s and a few TAC cup games.

Re Murphy: add to that gun tackler. Be good to finally get some defensive pressure around the ball. His kicking is ok but not brilliant.
