Recommitted Marcus Bontempelli [signed for four years]

Twoomey's latest video had a bit on 2025 FA's and he pretty much said "how many years will he re-sign for?". Late '24 he was visibly upset on the field with team mates and likely the teams performance. Majority of watchers would say this Dogs list is underperforming. I would like to pose the question to BF, if he hasn't signed before the season starts, which I feel would be a bit odd, and the Dogs season starts like this year, why would he stay? If he moved he would make any team in the 8 a premiership favourite. Will get paid well whoever he plays for, so the money is irrelevant. Future picks for 2 years makes matching the bid a minor detail. Do people really believe it's already a done deal to stay?

Him not signing before season starts is nothing to worry about. Trade talks can take a long time and he is very unlikely to join another club because of some players poor performances. These players just don't leave because of underperforming seasons. It would take much much more to push a player like Bont out of the club. Bont's best comparison is Cripps. Carlton has been performing horribly worse than Dogs and yet Cripps has never left the club as captain or when he had given up the captaincy.

So they would sack Bevo to keep him? At 29, another wasted season is one year closer to retirement and then is there a rookie coach out there that can do what Mcrae did. All speculation but I just find it odd the media thinks this a done deal when a club like Collingwood have made it clear they will be attacking free agency recruits.
