Who knows. He's always taken unders, I assume it took a bit longer because he's not taking as much unders anymore, but clubs would've been throwing a lot more money at him, even shorter term mammoth offers. We'll never know though.

This is for the best. Every club would love him but it would have felt bad for the whole AFL if he moved, he's just seems like a great bloke who is very loyal and it's good everything isn't always about money and chasing easy success rather than earning it.

Always liked Bont. Amazing player but seems like a ripping bloke too. I am happy he resigned with doggies. Some players are irreplaceable to the fabric of a club and Bont, to me, is that for they doggies. Great news for the dogs supporters.

I always felt that way about Nick Reiwoldt, too, Toppa.

I'd expect it was higher to be honest.

The TPP has increased massively in the past few years and we missed out on Barrass and lost Baz last year (and Macrae and Daniel). He's one of the best players in the competition and we have a heap of cap space.

Collingwood, Saints and Fremantle all floated significant contracts to Bonts management. Speaking to a player manager contact I have, according to him Saints offered north of 1.8m for 5 years, bigger contract than any one else (including the Dogs).
