Where is Drummy at with his footy? Is he injured? I would have thought with all the younger guys getting a game he would have been right in the mix.

Played in round 1 and wasn't overly impressive - we were absolutely spanked though. Subsequently he was sent back to the WAFL. He played a pretty decent game for Perth against the Bulldogs first up, but his form dropped off a bit after that. He's also had some injury troubles, there was a period around the WAFL's mid year break where he hadn't played footy for about 5 weeks. Unfortunately for him this was when most of Freo's injuries hit. He didn't get a recall then, and others who did have moved ahead of him in the pecking order - he missed the boat so to speak.

At the moment the club has got Perth trialing him up forward. Which many around here, myself included, see as a good move. I don't think he'll ever be a great key defender, he's lost a bit of his pace off the mark due to all his injuries, he could certainly become a more than handy second/third tall forward though. Played a very good game on McLeod in 07 in a defensive forward role, kicking 4 goals.

Thanks for that!

HE had leadership potential written across him...but just hasn't hit his straps at his Wafl club, Perth. Seeing as though we've had all these injuries & injection of youth in the side & he still can't crack a game, it looks as though he will be offered trade at end of year. If noone interested, I'd suggest that we'll keep him.

Perhaps a change of Wafl clubs may motivate him...I don't like him forward...don't mind him pinch-hitting there, but he's a defender.

He appears not to have stacked much muscle on in his 3 years here...so perhaps overall motivation is the problem?

If we get a late 2nd round pick for him, there's every chance we may trade him..but in today's climate & with Gold Coast coming I can't see it happening. Appears to be a depth player at best these days.

Cuddles did spend a season trying to turn him into a midfielder/wing/running half back. That was a major screw up IMO.

I watched him on TV last week against Swans and he lloked out of his depth. He almost seemed to be disinterested. Not sure where he is at regards the Dockers but his attitude certainly would have to improve.I thought that he would be a really solid player for the Dockers but has gone down hill.
Maybe a trade or delisting next year

i used to like drum, but over the last two years he has slowly started to impress me less and less. doesnt do the hard things, isnt quick, and doesnt kick goals, he doesnt defend well either.... i mean if hansen can kick goals on you, anyone can..... trade/delist

Wasn't dropped for ducking his head and he didn't spit the dummy. He won't be delisted either, we have worse players still playing.

Also as for the Hansen comment, that is just a narrow minded quip at the Eagles. Hansen is still a good player, kicked goals on people before and was important to the WCE.

ash hansen is a B grade footballer, of whom i would expect that marcus drum should have been able to keep to nothing. he is slow, he tends to get butter fingers, his kicking is average, and he is a soft as a marshmallow, if drum cant beat hansen, he doesnt deserve to be in the team.... hansen is a spud of the highest order, call it a knock on the eagles if you want, it doesnt make it any less true. i know you love drum bradesman, and you are right, there are worse players on our list, but i expect another large cleanout, drum is without doubt in the gun.... accept it
