Purchased a SNES on Ebay with Mario Bros All Stars and am I having some fun. After being a bit rusty the old moves are coming back. I also forgot how much the wife hated this game. With a bit of help with the whistles I have reached level 8 and hope that I will be able to finish the game.

This has got to be the best game of all time.

No, it's not even the best SNES game of all time...

This is.

Is this the game that had like 3 or 4 marios in it at once?

My favourite was the one where you could turn into a flying fox

Bah.

The OP was obviously talking about Mario 3 which is technically NES and holds its place as one of the greatest of all time.

But your little Legend Of Zelda pales in comparison to Super Mario Kart and Donkey Kong Country on the SNES.

And, FWIW, Goldeneye 64 is the best video game of all time.

Ever so closely followed by Mario 64.

I love Sonic, especially Sonic 2! Much better than Mario Bros.

Do you remember when they brought out Sonic&Knuckles?

You could take the card out of the cartridge, and stick it in Sonic 2 which would enable you to play as Knuckles in Sonic 2.

That was so cool.

Yeah lol, Sonic & Knuckles was pretty sweet too, but the first two Sonic games were the best of the lot(Probably twice as good as the newer Sonic games)

I regret selling my Megadrive, but to compensate i downloaded an emulator and play the games on my computer.

Just as fun now as it was back then.:D

Megadrives are indestructible.

Mines probably 15 years old, and still growing strong.

This is despite my Dad kicking the shit out of it, throwing it outside and letting it get soaked in the rain.

Hard, hardy machines.

:eek:Whatever did you do to deserve that punishment?
If someone were to do that to my PS3 I'd probably break down to tears, wouldn't care if someone did it to my Gamecube though...hunk of junk.

But a megadrive is a piece of history, and shouldn't be mistreated lol

Super Mario Kart ftw.

My mate has Mario Kart on the wii. Talk about nostalgia, it has a couple of the original tracks, such as Mario Circuit and Ghost Valley, as well as some of the 64 tracks like Donkey's Jungle Way (or whatever it's called) and Bowser's Castle. It also has the original music for these tracks, it's awesome.

The best way to describe it is a mixture of Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64 going crazy on acid. You'll understand once you've played Rainbow Road.

I'm actually tempted to buy the Wii just for this.

And on emulators... can not get get enough of my NES emulator with the all time great 'Australian Rules Football'.

Includes one of two known typos in cut screens that I'm aware of... "North Melbourne have dominated the foward line". As good as Double Dragon 3's 'Bimmy and Jimmy'.

It's the perfect game to play whilst sinking back a few with some mates. The steering wheel that comes with it is pretty cool too, as is the return of Koopa Troopa (although, he's not as cool as he was in the SNES version).

Hahaha. North Melbourne vs teams like Hobart, Canberra, Darwin, etc etc.

Classic NES gaming :thumbsu:
