Mark Ainley

I witnessed a bit of the incident involving Mark Ainley today. It was very disturbing and he seemed in a lot of trouble. Hopefully somebody can put up a post when they find out the situation. We are all very concerned, but he is a tough nut.

Congrats to the Box Hill/Hawthorn doctor who controlled the situation with absolute professionalism, but not to the peanut who parked his van behind the ambulance restricting its access out.

Cheers to the Hawks' doctor. It was an incredibly selfless thing to do and we all certainly appreciated him taking his kit over & taking charge. You notice in AFL the respective doctors often look after their own, although it would be fairly rare to have such a serious situation on-field.

It was unusual that our senior doctors Harry & Con weren't there today, I quite often see one or the other amongst the crowd at the ressies.

I'm not sure of the name of our doctor that works on our ressies bench but certainly his efforts don't go un noticed nor the trainers, players and even one member of the crowd jump in to try help Ainners out.

Unfortunately I am the bearer of bad news.

Mark Ainley is apparently in hospital in a serious condition, with a fractured skull and internal bleeding.

Best wishes to him for a full and speedy recovery.

"The game was held up as Ainley was treated on the sidelines before being taken by ambulance to Box Hill Hospital. Brain scans did not reveal any bleeding, though Ainley will be in hospital at least overnight. Kangaroos chief executive, Greg Miller, said Ainley had concussion and a possible burst eardrum."

Much better than first thought then! Obvioulsy Mark would still be feeling pretty crook, but that is a good result.

Mark has a skull fracture and will be treated by one of the vice presidents .

He should make a 100% recovery
