Article in today's rag confirming Seaby has asked to be traded at year's end. He is a 25 year old premiership ruckman who with Cox and Nic Nat was going to struggle to get regular game time. I think the Dons could do worse than to have a look at him. A back up experienced ruckman in case of injury that would also allow Ryder to play other positions when the need arises. He is out of contact at season's end so the Eagles won't hold much power on the bargaining table. If we got him for late second round/early third round choice I would be reasonably happy.

He would be a terrific fit for Collingwood, can then get rid of Wood. Fraser playing forward would help them in a major way, having a solid chop out rather than Wood who really just isn't good enough. I hope Essendon make a play for him. Hille is starting to get on and Ryder can't be expected to shoulder the load almost by himself (Hooker isn't much chop in the ruck) again. If Seaby came to Essendon I think he would get regular game time.

LOL, good luck finding a club dumb enough to give up a 2nd rnd draft pick for a battler like Seaby.

I don't think it's that far-fetched. Look at the picks given for Wood and Warnock, who have both shown far less. I think both Seaby and Mark Blake will be at new clubs next season, with Seaby holding far more in trade value. The eagles may have to accept an early 3rd round choice. Otherwise he said he is prepared to chance his arm in the PSD.

Seaby was West Perths number 1 ruckman last year ahead of Warnock

so do you want Seaby, we'll give you a bargain, only your first round pick :thumbsu:

Hasnt looked as horrible at AFL level this year
Could definantly work being a number 1 ruck at another club

Second rounder sounds about right
Ha, we'd have trouble offloading him for a 2nd rounder even without a compromised draft.

It'll be 3rd at best.

He's certainly servicable and sides could do worse than taking him if they need a ruckman, and I think he'd do better in a side that gave him more opportunity. But you're kidding yourself.

Hmmm

Last year in the WAFL, Seaby was shocking. Got flogged by all and sundry, young & old.

And as bad as Seaby was, and he was shocking, Warnock was worse, much worse. For a while there was some talk of dropping him to reserves. And Warnock was a cry baby, on the media constantly about how he wasn't getting any AFL time.

Much to my amazement, a couple of clubs went on a mini bidding war on Warnock. WTF was that all about?

Remind me, what did you guys part with for this crab, remembering he also got flogged by Seaby?

Even though he left the club, I'm still a big wrap for Warnock. He is far more talented than Seaby. He's 206cm tall but has beautiful skills and moves well across the ground. No doubt there are still question marks over his heart and intensity but I think Carlton made a good decision going after them even though so far it doesn't look like a great deal.
