Wasn't it great to see Stevo with a big grin and looking forward to playing footy? :D

He said his knee is feeling better than it has been for 2 years. Lets hope Stevo can make a comeback and play some very good footy for the AFC again. He would slot in very nicely at CHB.

Fingers, toes and everything crossed :)

it is great news and great for mark him self but l hope the AFC dont consider playing him at CHF ........he should finish his playing days as a defender now........a lot less stress on his lower body.

Gee, I wasn't. I spoke to him about 2 months ago and he thought he was finished for all time.

Let's hope he stands up!! He'll be a monstrous bonus if he does!!

Several posters have already suggested that if he does, the way to go would be to play him at CHB to minimize the chances of damaging the knee again. It's hard to argue with that - I'd love to see him there!!

I think he is a great defender and should resume back there maybe play him forward occassionally but as a last resort, all I can say is Perrie is going to have to improve or his career is in serious trouble.

I was in total confusion! hahaha - he was on two channels at once! hahaha

He looked bloody gorgeous!!!!

I keep everything crossed that he can make some sort of a comeback!

Lets not get carried away. He is still yet to play a game and that will be the biggest test so far. If his knee pulls up OK after a game of footy then I will crack a champagne bottle to celebrate.

He said himself that 2 months ago he was extremely close to giving it away. He looked really positive today and Roo said on monday its the best he has seen him train for a long while. Next week he will play for the Eagles and then we will know if we can cont on him.

He is still only 28 so if we could get a couple of years out of him at CHB we would be laughing all the way to the bank.

They showed some footage of him training......he looked like he was going in pretty hard.

When I spoke to him at the family day he said it was coming along well.....but then we all thought that before he played in the trial at Norwood.

Only time will tell.

Your right kb "our" Mark looked bloody terrific & i will join you in keeping everything crossed in that he can resume his AFL career before too long.

Didn't realize Stevo was 28 though thought he was a bit older than that.

I won't comment...damn! Now I have.

Seriously, best of luck to Stevens. It is always great to see a player return successfully from injury.

Been waiting for you.

Hands in the air and back slowly away, no sudden moves...

Seriously, this is great news. Hopefully all goes well for his comeback.

My confidence is growing a bit. As stated before the next few weeks are critical, we must win games, but also Stevo must make a gradual steady return, almost certainly in the backline. If that happens, we may have blown top 4, but our season is far from over.

I wonder which team in the eight is keeping our spot warm.

Must be all that rubbing. ;)

Of rabbits feet!!

even if he makes it through the first few weeks with the Eags reserves, how long due you expect to have to wait before you see some of the old form back?

How long has it been since Stevens played regularly as a defender?

For this reason I think it would be a huge gamble to play Stevens in the hoops anywhere inside 6-8 weeks. He'll need to find some form in the SANFL first.

get him back ASAP .....but give him at least a few weeks in the SANFL to find his form.

Play him at full back, as we did in the finals of 1998. We do not have a tall enough full back at this stage.

Put Basett in a pocket on the third tall. He will not be on such a player of bulk such as a Lynch. This would suit him better. His form has been much better in the last few weeks.

Stevo has surprised himself so far, as he's not feeling any pain in the knee so far. The test will come when he plays.

He is adamant that he will retire if this comeback fails.

Let's hope he stands up because he would make one hell of a CHB in our current structure when right.

Stevo was on before the bounce and he said that he has been spending a lot of time with gymnast during his rehab so he learns how to land properly.

Lets hope he comes back and can play somewhere near his best.

Maybe the AFC should invest in a prosthetic knee or something if they want to play him this bad.

Bring in sanctioned cloning, and claim him under father/son.
