I've been posting a few threads like this just seeking a little extra information. This one is about what they call "market movers" on the television.
Last week I recall Royal Discretion moved in a couple of points before the race - the bookies just took a plunge on it.
This week Forensics, All Silent and Hot Danish all were hit hard by punters. All saluted. In fact during my year and a half of following the thoroughbreads I'd say the market mover has an incredibly high success rate.
Forenics was not a hard one to pick and many on here did well in picking him. I then check some of the top picks by the tipsters in the age and online and All Silent and Hot Danish are nearly nowhere to be seen yet are backed in 3-4 points and favouritism on race day.
So, my question, is it something the punters are told, a bit of information they get, or do they just sit back and watch it drift out whilst the false favourite tightens and then hit it hard just before the race? What is going on here?
