Yes mate 10 years old. I saw him, he didnt do anything wrong and there is nothing wrong with being out having a few bevs either. I dont see why I am about to be crucified.

Either do I, stop over-reacting guys, just because he said Marty was out on the piss, geez.

Hopefully Marty comes in, he had a very good game for Willi on Sat.

Bucks, Clarke, Fraser(if Fit), Cox should all come in IMO.

There's a school of thought that Licca would be good value against Sydney's less than speedy midfield, and that this would be a good match for him. Had excellent form for Willy on the weekend, and the club might be looking to reward him.

Also, have read on other forums that Gotch was impressed with Clarkey's game for Willy on the weekend and he has said he's being actively considered for promotion this week.

 Was in the best on Saturday, was terrific, especially in the first half.

He actually got very few touches in the first half playing HBF. He got most of them playing out of the middle after half time when the game was done and dusted. And Gotch's opinions on anything aren't worth reading. He'll say what he thinks MM wants to hear. Marty will get back because his name is Martin Clarke, not on form.

Let's agree to disagree. I watched the game, haven't read Gotch's report, and thought he was very good.

I'm not so sure Clarke will come in against Sydney. The way I see it, the likely omissions are one of the ruckmen, Johnson, and Cook. For them, Buckley and Fraser will come in (assuming Josh is fit). The third in is more likely to be Stanley IMO. Iles would be a chance as well. While I think Clarke was reasonable in the VFL, the other two were in slashing form.

I agree with Buckley and Fraser (if fit) with Johnson and Richards the likely ommissions.

Cook has had a good run in the seniors but will probably make room now for someone else.

That person IMO would be either Stanley, Iles, Wellingham or Clarke. Out of those four, Wellingham has not played a senior game, Iles and Stanley have had little impact while showing promise and Clarke has made a sensational debut, earning a Rising Star nomination and respect from opposition fans and coaches.

I would want Clarke in the side out of those four come finals, therefore at round 21, we need to bring him in... the time for testing youngsters is over!

I thought Clarke used the ball well and had better decision making and skill than Licuria and Stanley etc on the weekend. He also seemed to get it in more important areas and in close contests, which is what we need against Sydney. Licuria might have touched the ball more times, but he also made more obvious mistakes and featured in uncontested link up work etc, which will be unlikely to happen against the Swans.

Agree with you about Licuria. He did just run around racking up meaningless possessions. But Marty? He was just plain ordinary early on. He got run down twice in the first half and had a very average opponent run off him at will in the first Q. He got about 2 touches in the first Q and about 6 for the half while Isles and Stanley each had 15+. He just plain didn't have many decisions to make in the first half, let alone being better than the other 2.

I've got no problem with him being brought back but we're kidding ourselves if we think it was on Saturdays form. Gotch moved him to the middle to bring him into the game and said as much at half time.

I wouldn't base his inclusion on Saturdays game either (although I still thought he played well in the second half), but I think he's the type of player we need playing in the seniors at the moment. Gets in and under, dishes it out, has some leg speed, not affraid to challange a player and he doesn't seem to get distracted.

I don't think Clarke should have been dropped in the first place. He had done nothing to be dropped for, if you were looking for players to drop he would have been closer to the middle of the pack than the bottom. I therefore think he should be back in the side regardless of whether he had a great game for Willi or not.

I mean he had been averaging 17.6 touches and 5.6 marks a game and is already one of our best users of the footy by foot. Why the hell was he dropped in the first place? Pendles and Thomas have been rested in the past, but both came straight back into the firsts. Clarke has been better than Pendlebury and Thomas were in their first season IMO.

why the hell wouldn't be come into the side before Lica?

Lica shouldn't even be on the radar.

Because Licuria had over 30 possessions on the weekend and played an outstanding game. Clarke probably had half as many touches and less influence.

Sydney are a physical side, and definitely not fast so it would be ideal to have Paul Licuria in and around the packs against the Swans, with his Willy performance to back it.

That is absolute rubbish. I would take 15 Martin Clarke disposals over 30 Paul Licuria disposals every day of the week. 30 possies from Licuria means nothing these days his disposal is so poor. I thought he was distinctly average for Willi because the vast majority of his disposals had little to no damage factor for the opposition. Turned it over numerous times as well.
