Martin Hardie: I write the forms... I think Evans ran the program

What are you getting at Cozza? Are you suggesting this entire thing is some ALP conpiracy against Hirdy? And that Minister Dutton and the entire judiciary are also in on it?

Hird was up to his nuts in doping and went to the Calzada meeting with Evans way back early. Hird ws pushing the program more than anyone. So get to the the point buddy. Noone is buying that this is some grand conspiracy and that your boy Hirdy is the only honest broker. NOONE. So get your story straight.
There are two very different issues at play here;

1. The supplements program - ASADA /WADA doping

2. The cover up and breaches of corporate governance in trying to hush it all up.

I think it was about protecting the AFL's sporting image moreso than the boys club. Vlad wanted the saga to be sold as a rogue sports scientist who took advantage of an inexperienced coach to dupe players and in the process expose them to the risk of taking PEDs without actually doing so which, oddly, is probably pretty close to the truth.

Problem for Vlad's plan was that Hird couldn't stomach the idea that he would have to admit making a mistake and possibly because Dank made it known that he's tell all and sundry that Hird (and others) weren't naive bystanders to the program but in fact knew more about it than they were willing to admit.

If Hird does go nuclear then some of these cosy arrangements between Kelty, Evans, Vlad etal may well have some light shone on them as well. Hird is protecting Hird and he doesn't care what the collateral damage is

Once Hird and Essendon go down for PEDs and cop their whack, I'll be down at the court in an Essendon jumper cheering for Hird as he goes down throwing haymakers at everyone and anyone!

It'll be like when Mrs Mangle went from bad guy to good guy in Neighbours.

Dutton came in as Federal Sports Minister in Sept 2013, 7 months after ASADA broke. Dutton would want it wrapped up more than anything.

You want solutions? Well I’m trying to help.

Settle down please.

I will book Jon Bon Jovi to sing "Blaze of Glory" live on the steps.

Agreed. Thats a far more concise explanation of what I've been trying to say

So thats a no to my question then?

Hird is either naïve, greedy or stupid. I’m not sure which one yet.

In terms of the Governance/Legalities, the “key players” we’ve researched are bigger than Hird, which is why we went down that path. The buck will not stop with him (in the sense that, from his eyes, I wouldn’t want to take the wrap either for the other corporates).

Evans resignation in July 2013 is very interesting, up until that point, it was all “we’re on the same team” and “we’ll work with ASADA on this”.

There’s been a seismic shift in the thinking of Essendon FC powerbrokers since July 2013, when Evans left.

Don’t forget, I still deem that Thompson has got off very lightly in all this, so has Geelong footy club.

Are you journalists?

Just interesting that since 2010, PEDs and Collingwood have come up a few times - including during this 'Essendon saga', but no one has ever seemed to jump on it and get a few more facts.

It just seemed to 'go away'.
The AFL has a history under Vlad of going after one club on an issue (the one most guilty) and putting them to the sword whilst ignoring/under playing the extent that other clubs may be doing the same. Use one club as an example to forewarn the others to clean up their act whilst making it appear like they are doing something about the problem which they insist is isolated to that club

West Coast weren't the only who's players were using recreational drugs, they were just the most obvious.
Melbourne weren't the only club with some questionable tactics when it came to winning games, they were just the most obvious.
Essendon weren't the only club using supplements, they were just the most obvious.

I am so sick of this.

We're being fed the wrong info. Half the journo's should be shot for their lack of reporting. Caro's call on Hird's sacking was the funniest bit, she was 'outed' as a dill that day. Richard Baker and Nick McKenzie from The Age seem to have a clue.

So why the silence? Are B&M suppressed?
