Obviously going to be a fantastic player but how long will he play for us? Will he go back to Ireland like Kennelly or will he stay playing AFL? I personally think (hope) he will stay for 8-12 years, what do other people think?

I think although i am not 100% sure that Marty's contract expires at the end of the 09 season.
There was an article in the Sun a few weeks ago about MARTY CLARKE.
He said that he was going to put everything he has into this year,to show the footy world what he can do.
Once his contract expires he will see iof the pies offer him a new 2-3 year deal, otherwise he is quite prepared to go home to Ireland.

So don't you think the pies will offer him another deal?
They would be crazy if they didn't.
Watch him emaerge as a fantastic player next year.
To me he reminds me of the is the irish version of buckley.

Although we have by no means seen the best of what he do yet!
We may see more glimpses of his best skills next year !

He isn't going to go home next season. That's just stupidity.

It'd defeat the purpose of coming over here to leave when you've starting to become a good player.

I definitely think he will play atleast till the end of the 2012 season but not sure if he will go on longer than that.

Yes i hope he stays too.But in the article he stated that IF collingwood don't offer him a contract when the current one expires ,he will go home.
As i have said previously ,of course collingwood would offer him a new contract, they would have rocks in their heads if they didn't.

It's a given that Collingwood will offer him a new contract once his current one expires, so we don't have to worry about that.

Marty is quickly becoming a very important cog in the Collingwood machine. Elite endurance, strong in the contest and uses the ball well. He's also a clever player, some of the little toe pokes he manufactures whilst being tackled are pure genius.

There's still plenty of improvement left in him as well. We'll definitely see him in Collingwood colours for a while yet.
