Hi all

I'm flying from Brisbane to Adelaide Saturday arvo. I normally fly Virgin Blue which would be ok because I could watch the match on the live2air setup. This time I'm going on Qantas. Does anyone know if there is radio reception of the abc on QF flights? Really want to at least listen to the freo match.

Live2Air setup no longer exists on the DJ fleet, or least it is being rolled out pretty quickly. They are replacing it with a different system that won't have Foxtel.
You have no chance on Qantas.
You'll have to sit and pray.

Really? I pondered this because I flew DJ to Ayers Rock last month and they had the setup on the flight to Sydney but Sydneys - Ayers Rock had no TV whatsoever- it was a newer plane and had no TV's whatsoever- quite annoying for a 3 Hour flight!

Some aircraft still have it. I flew up to Sydney for work last Saturday and it had live2air but the return flight did not. Foxtel is being replaced by another system. Not many of the planes now have it.
They have rebranded to Virgin Australia and virtually nobody was paying the $5 to use the liv2air.
You want a long 3-hour flight? I was on a Virgin Blue flight to Perth the night that Geelong whipped us by 157 points and I watched it all unfold on liv2air, 38,000ft above the ground. I was wishing the plane would crash into the Nullabor.

Qantas still have ABC Radio access on channel 2 of the inflight audio system. Given you're flying from Brisbane to Adelaide, and the aircraft tuner scans to the strongest ABC frequency, you will have ABC local rugby league coverage for a fair part of the journey. The do give the occassional AFL score update but I do stress occassional.

You'll have to sit and pray that, by overhead Broken Hill, that Jack has kicked 10, Dusty and Cotch have racked up the lazy 80 possies and we're home.

Haere Ra

Might be ok then as broncos v storm is the only nrl game on saturday & doesn't start til after 7.

Hahaha!
I was flying home from Brisbane with Virgin Blue when we played Hawthorn last year. The flight started right on the 1st bounce of and I thought the timing was perfect as I could watch entire game. We arrived into the gate and they switched the in flight entertainment off just as Shane Tuck was running into goal. I got off the flight, rang my brother to find out what happened and he was shattered
1 As we know Tucky was tackled and we lost by less than a kick!!
