Brownlow Medallist
Lions v Falcons – 2 arch-rivals over the past few years and many, myself included, thinking Subi will slip back to the pack in 2010. Bit of extra heat in this one because Campbell defected to the Lions after being delisted by Freo. And if any team doesn’t like a defector it’s the cardies! Should be a good crowd to give it to Kiwi as well. Interestingly, Campbell shapes as a key for Subi, to help replace the Maplestone, Smith, Dennis-Lane forward line.
Waterman says he’s concentrated more on skills, which Subi used to burn you with. However, Campbell still has able support in Broadhurst and Adamson-Holmes gets to play in a position I reckon he’s more suited to at CHF.
We know what the Falcons will bring, intensity and passion. Can they sustain it all game and then all season is the question for me. However, their runners are top notch, with Salecic, Rice, Guadagnin, van Berlo being the key to them getting the ball quickly to Tsalikis, LeCras (if playing) and resting Andrews or Keunen.
Looking forward to seeing the new recruits from Subi and a ding dong battle with West Perth.
