Swans v Sowfs - now hopefully the Bulldogs that played Claremont last week turn up.:D Dawson has supposedly got the Swans fired up, but then I have no doubt that the best coach in the WAFL will have Souths revved up and ready to atone. 4 big ins for Swans, Pearce, Roach, Riggio and Hansen. A couple of big outs, Lammie and Wolfenden, who both had horror days at WP. Lammie was effectively 19th player, on the field, for the other team.:eek: Davis and Embley both out injured. Sowfs have Hunt, McGrath and Delmenico in.

On paper, both teams look stronger than last outing. Will be interesting to see Roach on a midget, to see if they can exploit that height differential. Walters on Phillips will be interesting, couple of hotheads! Notte on Wilson, hmmmm, Bossong was horrible last week, see if Hansen/Geappen can get the better of him? Can't decide so I'll flip a coin.....look at that, Swans, just, came up.:D

Best for the Swans;

Krakour - Everywhere, just reads the play so well especially off of hands, West Coast could really use him ;) and seems to be pretty fit, kept himself in good nick, in the bighouse by the look of it.

Colreavy - A couple of fantastic running goals, used the ball well and sets up the play with nice footskills.

Walters - He's got a great left foot, seems to have increased his engine this year, played two top games in a row and is seriosly knocking on the door for a birth at Freo in the coming weeks.

Josh Roberts was good but **** me does he play it up for the free's, so soft, the effort on the wing where Wilson slapped his arm and he feigned a blow to the face was disgusting. Weak dog, who can find the footy.

Notte was good as a lock down defender, making Mcarrey his bitch and having nice patchs on Wilson and Murphy. Disposal is a little shoddy.

Roach - First game for the club? How old is he? Looked fantastic, sharp, clever by foot and ran hard in straight lines. Looks a real player.

Best for Bulldogs

Bairstow - Fantastic first quarter and continued winning the ball on the inside all day, had a goal robbed of him, that was a disgrace. Is very neat by foot and keeps on racking up big numbers.

Ashton Hams - Played a blinder of a first quarter picking up 9 possies 2 marks and 3 goals. Was then thrown behind the ball to stop Swans with the breeze, was a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Battled manfully all day and finished with 25 + possies and 4 goals

Nathan Phillips - Had a howler in the first, touched the ball once and didnt do the hard things at all, looked like he got a rocket at quarter time and really lifted his workrate. Picked up 28 possessions in the next 3 quarters, 12 marks and one goal to be in the Souths best for the day. Kicking was very good.

Swans were just more even all over the park, Taylor also played well and chimed in with 3. Dont really think Souths are going to be anything other than a filler come finals time. Might be a battle between Claremont and West Perth this year.

Wonder if we can call the Wiz ;)

Great write up Bruuuuce. Was thinking the same about Krakouer and the Eagles. Also thought Notte's footskills were very good, except 1 or 2 in the last. Generally when he kicked out from the backline it was 50m to a leading Spaanders (who we'll miss next week :mad:) and out in front, the way many of the Eagles need to learn how to kick.

Phillips is the one I was most interested in, seeing if he had transitioned from the front runner I thought he was previously, and happily he has!:thumbsu:
