Brownlow Medallist
This will be a good test for EF, I do think SD with the likes of Roach, Riggio, Hansen and Pearce are at their best. Lots of goal scoring options for SD with Hansen, Walters, Geappen, Krakouer, Colreavy etc up front. Losing Spaanderman will be a key for SD, this allows EF to have Young up back in case Dodd goes to Freo, though who knows with Spangher, he is always Woosha first option when WCE lose to drop. The likes of Warren, Weller and Young are all more capable defendeing talls if Spangher or Dodd don't play
Through the middle fella's like McGough, Monteath, MacNamara and Fasolo plus AFL boys in Palmer, Stevens(can't seeing him getting picked for WCE after getting injured against EP in the 1st quarter) and perhaps Dalziell should give EF a mix of leg speed and hardness that should more than match Riggio, Roberts, Roach and Robinson for SD
Up front is EF conundrum, lots of options, none overly tall and none proven goal scorers, but all capabale to kick 2 's and 3's.....Monk, Dunn, Kyanga, Palmer, MacNamara, Ware and perhaps Murray(promoted from the reserves)....no house hold WAFL goal kickers there, but should get plenty of opportunities with EF midfield.....
SD killed EF last year x 2, be interested to see if EF can lift their game and give SD a good game. Time will tell I guess, but I do think SD potent forward line could be the difference, because Perths, Peels and EP forward lines don't have the mix which SD has.
