This will be a good test for EF, I do think SD with the likes of Roach, Riggio, Hansen and Pearce are at their best. Lots of goal scoring options for SD with Hansen, Walters, Geappen, Krakouer, Colreavy etc up front. Losing Spaanderman will be a key for SD, this allows EF to have Young up back in case Dodd goes to Freo, though who knows with Spangher, he is always Woosha first option when WCE lose to drop. The likes of Warren, Weller and Young are all more capable defendeing talls if Spangher or Dodd don't play

Through the middle fella's like McGough, Monteath, MacNamara and Fasolo plus AFL boys in Palmer, Stevens(can't seeing him getting picked for WCE after getting injured against EP in the 1st quarter) and perhaps Dalziell should give EF a mix of leg speed and hardness that should more than match Riggio, Roberts, Roach and Robinson for SD

Up front is EF conundrum, lots of options, none overly tall and none proven goal scorers, but all capabale to kick 2 's and 3's.....Monk, Dunn, Kyanga, Palmer, MacNamara, Ware and perhaps Murray(promoted from the reserves)....no house hold WAFL goal kickers there, but should get plenty of opportunities with EF midfield.....

SD killed EF last year x 2, be interested to see if EF can lift their game and give SD a good game. Time will tell I guess, but I do think SD potent forward line could be the difference, because Perths, Peels and EP forward lines don't have the mix which SD has.

Some interesting ins and outs for both teams, but I think the Sharks ins are a little better. Davis would have been a nice in for Swans. Wolfenden gets a reprieve to show what he can do, Notte first ruck, with Lammie CHB , I'll start my rosaries now! I bet the Sharks wish they had Spangher, Brown or Kennedy to start on Lammie, it would be like, well like Sharks circling!

On a positive, Clint Garlett gets to start in the centre and show what he is capable of.

Lay off Wes guys, he has been a bit out of form but he is a clear backman and I feel will do well in DEFENDING while at centre half back. His skills coming out of defense may let him down a tad on the day but he can defend quite well.

I am sure he will be used in the ruck as well, which I rather he wasn't as he is a better backman than ruckman. I wish him all the best

Trust me pacie, when I say I don't like knocking these young guys, but my heart fills with fear every time he goes near it.

Also forgot to mention Hinkley is back in for Swans, so should he not butcher the ball, will give us some good run.

Lammie >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> D. Bairstow.

Agreed:D

Funny enough they both come from the same junior / local club.

How so, you two? Fumbles chest marks, looks like a giraffe skating on ice when near the ball. At least D Bairstow has a bit of arrogance about him, thinks he's good, from what I witnessed on the benches in the Claremont game! I wish Wes had more confidence like that! :thumbsu:

LOL, for some reason I get the feeling he is reading all this and for his sake I hope it fires him up as we (Souths) need a big game from everyone to get the points againist the falcons.

Would love to have Lammie at souths interested in some form of trade?:D

No, he rucked all game. Spencer provided support.

He had a couple of clangers to begin the game but he kept working hard and was pretty handy thereafter.

Totally concur with that Ud, he was not the worst, worked very hard to offer options in the last.

Great game from Notte today, I thought! His kicking was spot on all game, remember him missing 1 target. His tackling was the best part, worked harder than I've seen him work before.

Krak was sensational, along with Simpson, Roach, Casserley, Walters and Pearce. Swooper, what do I say? 7 goals, half the time he doesn't even look like he's interested or going to get the ball, then a goal. Super game.

Didn't really notice Palmer until the last, but he was classy in kicking for goals. Got through unscathed, so that was good.

Umpires were crap, absolutely sub standard. Made a number of puzzling and bemusing decisions, to say the least, the vast majority of which favoured East Freo.
