Demons v Tigers - typically the Demons can't beat the tigers, of late, but with the passing of club legend, Merv McIntosh, I sense a surge of the old redlegs passion!

Armstrong is out, as is Cook, which is a big loss and I didn't see Butler named, which is also a big loss, so how do they beat the tiges? The only way for them to is to run the tigers off their legs. So Young is going to have to lead the younger brigade of Sneeuwajt, Florio, Smith, Elari, Fiegert from the front.

Billings will have his hands full with Cones, Wilkes and Sibosado will be interesting, because as long as Sibo brings it to ground he should be too agile for Wilkes. McLernon will have his hands full with Richardson. Meanwhile McDougall, if he plays, will find a very good opponent in Thomson and Eades will possibly be followed by Mitchell, although wasting Mitchell's running efforts in the BP. Then there is Blackwell, Foster, Schammer, Ninyette, Murphy, Brabazon, Walton rotating through the midfield.

Re: Round 8 Teams

Royals v Swans - the Royals have started this year slowly as well, and probably a couple of players not eventuating that they expected has hurt. However, Micale is a very good coach and will get the best out of them, so this looms as another danger game for Swans, so they keep in touch with the top 4 and don't waste last week's effort.

Noakes at FB on Hansen will be monstored, if that eventuates. Geappen and Sampey should be an interesting match up, Krakouer will need to be manned up on, tightly, he's been Swans driving force so far this year.

Merrington needs to find his goal kicking touch again, with Ames on him that will be a big ask, and from what I've seen Prior can get the ball but has trouble finding the big sticks. Clarke should give the Royals first use, I reckon, but Roberts, Pearce, Riggio, Walters will make it hard to get first use. However, Pickering has been great when I've seen the Royals this year, JON needs to keep improving, as he has, and Swan, Cowell, Noakes will fight for the ball in the midfield.

Sharks v Lions - This should be MOTR easily, and I expect the Sharks have a fair bit of punishment to extract on the Lions, as do most other teams.

The midfield is going to be the key in this battle, because Subi are not express but know how to take your space and bottle the game up, to their strengths. The Sharks following division of Hall, Stevens, Ware, Horsburgh is quite young, but they have good experience around them in McNamara, McGough, Monteath and Chidlow. The lions mids of Webb, Blechynden, Kerr, Bristow are not overly fast but will run all day and know where to get the ball.

The match up of Spangher v Campbell will be pivotal to this match, as Campbell has slowly been growing in confidence and looked like he played a good match last week. Broadhurst will need someone to stick to him like glue as well because he will run and present and set up play all day.

Peel v Falcons - Falcons will win, that's all.. No, seriously, the Falcons have some big outs in Darling, van Berlo and Bradley. On the other side, Battye and Triplett are very good additions for the Thunder.

Bennell and Jones give the Thunder good rebound from defence and Wilson and Luff have a lot of promise as defenders. Collard, Brown, Green, Jones and Crichton will have a mountain of work to counter Salecic, Guadagnin, Bartholomew, Shadbolt and Chambers. For those interested, and you know who you are, Mason moves from the BP to FP. Let's see if he can kick some goals?

Tsalikis, LeCras, Gobbels and Saylor will keep those defenders with their hands full. Whilst Holmes, Beswick, McLeod, McGennisken doesn't quite have the same ring, does it?
