Lions v Bulldogs - the most salivating of the matches, can the Lions continue their recent good form, or can the Bulldogs kick start their season.

The Lions have a good midfield set up and Campbell seems to be starting to hit his straps down forward, and the defence remains solid. Young payers like Kerr and Blechynden have had an impact for the Lions, plus the return of Cockie. This game will be won through the midfield, so Bristow, Cossom, Webb, Pickett and co will need to be on thier mettle.

We all know Souths have a potent forward line through Murphy, Wilson and whatever small forwards they have thrown there, but throwing Phillips on to a wing has been a revelation. Add McGrath, Siegert, Miller and the midifeld looks good. Defence still looks solid, with McCarrey being called up to the state squad this week. Should be a cracking match.

Swans v Peel - Another danger game for Swans, needing to be tuned in mentally for a scrap, otherwise....

Swans have a potent forward line with Hansen being in rare form, Krakouer in just scintillating form and Notte, Walters, Simpson, Colreavy all providing dangerous options for the black and whites. Krakouer can also go to the middle to ignite the team and teammates like Garlett, Walters, Twomey, all follow suit and are tough to stop and then there's Roach to stop midfield! Roberts keeps crashing packs and getting his hands dirty for the team. Ames is back in defence, looking opposed to young Rhett Mason this week.

Peel have a lot of young, enthusiastic players and will have plenty of run. As I thought last eek, Battye back is a big inclusion, because he has class and adds flexibility of forward or mid. Jordan Jones and Rory O'Brien had big stats games last week, can they continue it? Forward I think will be the problem without Buszan, as evidenced by Mason playing FF. Not knocking Mason but he's lightly built compared to his seasoned veteran opponents. All in all, I think this game will be more interesting than many credit it for.

Falcons v Demons - Can the Falcons bounce back from the ignominy of losing to Peel? Can the Dees finally open their account? Please!

The Falcons have some handy ins, in van Berlo, Harvey, James and Darling. Harvey and James showed a heap of promise as 18/19 yo's in the league a couple of years back, so hopefully they can get back fit and firing. Strijk is a big out though. The Falcons look to have a more than handy forward line of Darling, LeCras, Tsalikis, Gobbels. The midfield is blue collar and will work all day with the likes of Salecic, Guadagnin, Rice, Bewicks', Crossland.

The Dees welcome back Cook, Armstrong, Siekerka but will miss Moody.
With a youthful and inexperienced side Armstrong, Siekerka, Thornton, Cook, Sprigg become vital in keeping them on track. Mather, Florio, Smith, Eades, Bollenhagen all need the older heads around.

Tigers v Royals - The Royals will want to bounce back after being beaten last week, in a game they should have gone on to win. The rampant Tigers is not the team you want to come up against on the rebound.

The Tigers have most facets covered, a good forward line, good centreline and good defence. Brabazon and Foster have been very important additions and Brabazon deserves his call up to the state team. Ninyette has been a revelation, especially after Swans cut him from their squad :)o, oh dear oh dear), Mitchell has just developed really well, Stevenson, before he went to the Eagles had also developed dramatically. You take one out of the midfield and Weedon and Broome, or a Walton, are waiting to come into the league side.

The Royals had young Sweet play a really cracking match last week and they will need 21 others to run and apply pressure like him all game. Merrington needs assistance up forward, whilst the defence was pretty solid until the last quarter last week. Midfield is where the Royals will need to match the Tigers. This is a match made for JON, can he rise to that level though? Can Pickering, Wulff, Cowell, Noakes, JON, Sweet trade blows with the Tiges?

Absolute goalfest at Medibank today.

Subi just had too many runners in the end and won more ball when it counted.

Cockie, Hilderbrant and Kyle Horsley provided real drive, with the polish provided, as always, by little Ally Pickett.

For a while there in the first half it was Subi vs Callum Wilson who was outrageously dominant leading up at the ball carrier.

Unstoppable for a half of footy, burned off Grover, Rumble and then Aiden Parker nearly broke even in the last half, was an exhibition on hard leading and marking the ball with the DUKES EXTENDED.

Souths arent what they used to be, that hard edge is missing from the middle. There's only so much ball Miller and Bairstow can win.

Was promising to see Phillips have an influence when he was thrust on ball. Few very sharp clearances and alot of tackles.

Did his state chances little harm with a 23 possesions, 3 goal game from a wing.

Few Subi youngers were promising. Young Worthington has the body of a boy but has a nice hard edge and solid left boot.

Marc Le is it? Dont have the program with me, but gee he worked hard across half forward, nice pair of mits and finished well.

Subi are still a genuine threat IMO, very even side, the likes of Cossom, Pickett, Hilderbrant, Horsley and co arent going to be easily stopped.

If anyone is going to challenge Claremont I think it's the Lions.

Bulldogs are not going to feature heavily this year in the fnals.

Who watch the WAFL game when the boundary umpire thought it wasn't on the full.

Ball clearly hits the ABC camera on the full.
WAFL commentators: whats going on here?
WAFL commentators: I think the boundary umpire thinks its not on the full
Some guy in the crowd: IT HIT THE ****EN CAMERA YOU TOOL (clearly herd on TV)
WAFL commentators: (herd what the guy said) wooooh yes well it did hit the camera on the full
Howlett: It hit the camera!!! (taking free kick)

Found it pretty funny, you don't get this funny stuff in AFL
