The non Indigenous player who comes from a troubled home community with a lot of other things going on in his life doesn't even get picked up because more than likely he doesn't have the talent to make the risk reward worth it.

Nice racist comment there yourself. So white people who come from troubled families are now more than likely less talented than indigenous australians.

It can work the other way as well. Look at Chris Yarran he came from a family that had issues with a father in the big house.
He grew up in housing commission lived in the same street as Nic Nat and Walters in a less then ideal area.
Jeff Garlett even spent time growing up living out if a car.
So it can also almost give these players a stronger resolve to make it.

They're also from Perth

A lot of the time when these young lads get delisted from clubs we here it from the media who are so far off the mark. My mates young bloke played 17 AFL games for a club and when he got delisted the football journalist based all their articles on rumours. The club was quite happy to go with this as it ment the players issues weren't bandied around the media which also would have put further pressure on the club and their input into players welfare. The less the media knew the more crap they actually came up with. It was quite bizarre but also very frustrating at the time.
