I've just read that Matt Rendell is critically ill after suffering a severe heart attack.
I'm sure the Fitzroy family and the football community at large hope that Matt can overcome this severe health threat and return to full health.

Ah jeez. Bundy was an absolute gun. That game at the Junction versus North in 1983. He literally shredded a Brownlow Medallist while kicking 8 goals. Just way to bloody young. Thanks Matthew for your service and stellar career for the Roys.

Dreadfully sad news and condolences to Matt Rendell's family.
Echoing previous sentiments, Matt was far too young.
The first game I saw Matt play was when he kicked 7 goals in our 69-point win over South Melbourne at the Junction Oval in Round 4, 1981.
Rest In Peace, Matt, and thank you for the great joy that you gave Fitzroy fans.
