Roast Matt Rosa

I have to chime in here, Rosa has never been any different. He is soft as butter, shirks contests and just bombs long at every opportunity.

Brown just isn't a League Player sorry. When he went up for a mark with one arm I just thought out loud - HACK!!!!!

Its all good though, we were never going to beat Essendon with those outs anyway.
Terrible and grossly inaccurate post.

He's been good for the last couple of seasons. He's performed that link role really well and has been a lot harder at the ball (because he was soft in his first few seasons). What was exposed yesterday was his lack of a "Game B". When shit goes wrong, as a senior player with a strong body, he was unable to adapt his game to benefit the team. This is a huge concern.

I'm not saying dump him forever, I'm saying a clear message needs to be sent that premiership teams don't have players that even for one game play like that.

To be fair, he isnt the only one. I'd say Glass, Waters, Hurn, Cox, Pridda and Kerr are the only players capable of changing a game when the team is down.

So this thread is advocating the dropping of Rosa on the basis he is not one of our best 5-8 players.

okay.

And you have it wrong.
Will you admit you're wrong when Rosa is playing this week?

You chucked a little fit in reaction to a heavy loss and wanted to vent on someone, anyone. Rosa being an easy target. That's understandable.

Because the same signs I saw in Rosa, I saw in Shuey, Lynch and a few others too. By your "send a message, this is unacceptable" logic, we would have to drop 1/3rd of the side based on last night's performance.

I didn't say he needed to be a game changer and win a game off his own boot but I did say he needed to show some leadership and change his game to stand firm.

I see, so you're going to be a knob about it. Okay. Your call.

I don't recall saying I thought he'd be dropped.

Clearly you've headed down "I'm going to start misquoting to win an argument" path. Good luck with that.

Come at me champ.

Worst on ground. Should get a gig next week in the WAFL. Put Shepard on the wing for now.

I expect you to play semantics and whatnot... What you thought and what should happen...

Good luck with the waffling.

Lecras and NN where the players that stood up the most to win us games in our spoon year. Both were missing on the weekend.
Embley is another who whilst nothing special is an important lift player and barometer for us.
During the essendon game you looked around for a player to turn it around for us and there was nobody. Really lacked a player to turn it around.

He's played some good footy against easy beats, but overall he is pretty average.

Never been a great player, never been a hard player, never been overly damaging against good sides.

Why we continue to re-sign him is beyond me

No need to take it so personally. I don't need to look through your history because I wasn't suggesting you had a history of knee jerk reactions. I'm simply saying this thread is reactionary.

Just because I don't want to immediately drop him, like you, doesn't mean I saw his game in any brighter light.

Actually, I've not bothered to come to this site for some time and the first time I did (not logged in) I found posts straight away from bunsen which immediately reminded me of why he was (and still is) the only person on my ignore list. Absolute tool. :thumbsu:

Wow. Someone is still upset. Don't even know who you are.

Can't believe there is a thread roasting Lynch. He has his shortfalls but Matt Rosa's game yesterday was a disgrace.

I'm not usually one to make irrational opinions after one bad game but this was much worse than a bad game. He didn't want the ball and didn't want to make body contact. He pretended he did, but he didn't. Effectively we were 1 man down yesterday.

When things are going wrong you need senior/experienced players like him to, at the very least, provide a contest.

If any watches a replay of the game just watch him when he is near the ball. Just didn't want it and din't want to put his body in.

totally agree,no leadership,no body contact,hands on hips.yes he is a nice kick.wooppee.id rather Sheppherd

Of course you did. You made no body contact.

you don't necessarily need to be hit to pull up sore. ever go to a gym for the first time in a while a feel sore the next day? ever do a large amount of gardening and wake up the next day with a stiff back?

how about trying to run 15-25km in repetitive sprints?

Thanks for that champ. Any other advice you want to impart on me?

Rosa didn't try. Big difference. Not acceptible from a senior player.

Perception is a strange thing. I observed that many of our players 'didn't try'.

Put it down to an off night. They'll be better this week, and I suspect Rosa, if on the park, will too. :thumbsu:

Essendon were very good though, let's not forget that.
