Surely, he has seen Dimma's coaching though and said to himself we are a much better team with this coaching.

I think they’ve improved, but more off the back of general growth, and my biggest concern for them is I think the ladder lies atm.

It’s been a pretty cushy draw so far. And it only gets better. Have only played 2 top 8 teams away from home, and one of them was in QLD anyway. Failed both tests.

Whilst it sets them up for the final 8, playing the good teams at home and the worse sides as away games is actually setting them up for failure IMO.

You would have to think he has 2 contracts to consider at GC
2 years to get to free agency
8 year deal to get the 'BIG DEAL' this would have to be around $1.3mil plus

My guess would be he signs 2 years and has a look and see

The cooler climate in Victoria is much better fo his skin long-term. Hope he factors that into his decision-making!
Na mate...That's why he's coming to WA. Wants some of our sweet Sun. Great for a ginger, they look awesome with a tan!

His manager is probably enquiring about what type of grass is available at each club. A lot of years to commit to a poor grazing grass.

raised my eyebrows at this one

Rowell is definitely a club specific one. Most clubs have their contested mids and need an x factor mid. If you have the contested mids already than Rowell is not someone you should be paying through the nose for. For Geelong we have Holmes, Smith, Dempsey on a wing, Miers and Mannagh as high half forwards, so we have running power and x factor out the arseh*le but need a contested beast to help Atkins, so he would be a great fit for us. Other teams maybe not so much.

He’s gone, he’s leaving.
Biggest question, what’s he worth in trade value? Is there a way to use that value to bring a player of quality in? Because the suns don’t need more draft picks
Trading with the Suns is always so interesting because of the way they value (or rather don’t value) draft picks.

Given the league is now allowing trading 2 years into the future it wouldn’t shock me if you got two first round picks spread over the next 3 years, plus a decent enough player. You’d know your list, where are the holes?

If you had to pick where you think he's going, where would you suggest?

I've heard reports of 4 different teams as the front runner.

Hawks, Pies, Cats and Bombers.

I imagine that is contingent if Reid or Butters are available. If those two are off the table completely this year then that leaves Rowell as the lone elite mid still on the board.
Twomey reckons Pies have someone "guaranteed" locked in.

Could it be Rowell? If so, what return would you want? Do Pies even have elite young players or picks to give?

Wait....Jamie Elliott was linked to a QLD return....you don't think?

Its one thing to have a bunch of picks spread out in the 10s and 20s, another to have a few picks under 10. Plus, the Vic clubs are pushing hard for all the academy discounts to be removed so the Suns likely wont get 3 players with picks under 10 again unless they actually have 3 picks under 10.

Probably just offer what the Cats offered for Smith.

I’d heard that the Bulldogs are one of his preferred destinations.

What he’s worth is subjective. Any club loses arguably their best player it’s going to hurt, and I don’t see a line up of genuine A graders banging on the door to come to the Suns sadly.

Why do Suns fans think he's leaving? I cannot see it happening and the media coverage points to him staying.
I guess a lot of Suns fans believe he's gone because he has not re-signed yet. Not me, haha.

I did not see any inside info.

FWIW, yes Jon Ralph yesterday wrote in Herald that opposition clubs believe he will re-sign.

The Suns would have put forward a fairly compelling offer already, by their results he can see the Suns are tracking well and should be playing finals and challenging over the next 1-5 years, the side is settled under Dimma. Rowell has all the information he needs and the fact he remains uncommitted suggests that something else has got his attention.
