Matthew lloyd or Matthew Pavlich?

Difficult to compare but Pavlich has more raw impact on a game when on song, especially playing from CHF. However Llyod has a feakish ability to soccer a goal of the ground when it was about to go through and to milk a free kick from a dive.

Give me Pav any day, he is a tougher player whith more self respect.

Round 1 last season against the Swans.....that first quarter display was as 'raw impact' as Ive ever seen by a FF in one game in recent years.

I'm beginning to think that the rest of the competition (supporters) have forgotten that Lloyd can actually take a contested mark

Finals record? Let's not go over the top, Johnny.

He's been okay in finals, but no better than he has been in the H&A season, and arguably worse.

He's kicked 52 goals from 18 games in finals (2.88 goals per game) and 715 from 194 games in non-finals (3.69 goals per game)

In 2 of his finals he got injured early on which really ********s his average.

Pavlich is very overrated.

Not deserving of his current 4aa's .. he only deserved two of them.

Great player but lloyd is better although he does dive.

No one.

What I'm saying is his impact in finals (which we were talking about), whilst good, isn't great like say Carey or Ablett. He hasn't had freak games where he has absolutely dominated in finals.

Pavlich is very overrated.

No comparison Two totally different players.

Lloyd great at full forward but but not the best away from goal whereas Pav could hold a number of positions.

Both great players.

Who do you think is the better player, personally i have to go with pavlich, but lloyd has been injured and he is back for the new season with a great chance to prove himself!

if they were the same age i would take lloyd but his best is behind him so i would take pavlich and he would be able to play in more positions than just full forward

And now pavlich`s record in finals, particularly the Essendon game ?

Well, you can't really judge Pavlich on that because his teams hasn't been good enough to make the finals for most of his career. That's not his fault. I do remember him being one of Freo's best in their PF loss to Sydney.

Certainly nothing spectacular about Lloyd in finals though, you've gotta admit that.

By using them as an example you are automatically comparing the two players and their respective finals influence.

You mentioned two of the greatest forwards of all time as a comparison to Lloyd, that in itself shows you how good Lloyd is.

Lloyd is obviously very very good, but Pav IMO is the best player in the league.
