He says he should be able to play 3 more years of Footy, but can he really? From the looks of the NAB Cup, I think he's lost a bit of skill and form.

How many more years do you think Lloyd has in him?

Please don't tell me some people are seriously judging how long he'll play for based on a first round NAB Cup match which he wasn't originally going to take part it at all until the bushfire tragedy?!

How quickly some people forget. Look at the second half of last year where he played some of the best footy of his career.

Barring major injury I'm confident he can play for another 3 years.

Honestly...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Lloyd was just out there for $hits 'n giggles - I can't actually believe your using a NAB Cup Rnd 1 game to judge his ability to play for the coming years - especially for a player as highly credentialled as Lloyd

I've seen many instances in that NAB Cup match where Lloyd failed to take a contestant mark and he missed such an easy goal. I think Neagle and Gumbleton will very soon put him out for good.

Like most players I think his retirement will depend on how close we are to challenging for flag in the next 2-3 seasons.

All being well I would think he could get 3 more seasons out of him but with age, injuries and the fact that he started young, he may not have the 3 years left in him.

great forwards tend to keep playing well into there 30s, regardless of how much he cops lloyd is a great forward and will play for another 3 years unless another serious injury occurs

lynch (36), lockett (36), dunstal (35), ablett (36)

lloyd could easily make it another 3 years and be 33/34 when he retires, he still has great ability shown by his 60+ goal season playing at CHF and i dont see that slipping as the bombers side gets better.

Probably 3. Another major injury would probably spell the end though - took a long while to start playing good footy again after tearing his hamstring off the bone.

I was surprised with his second half of last year, as I didn't think he was capable of playing that well anymore.

i think he will only last 2 more. id love to see him play more at his best though.

I hate this time of year, when all the idiots come out of the woodwork and start using NAB Cup form to make big predictions for the upcoming season which always utterly fail.

I would figure 3 years, Why not? He is always going to kick goals & is an inspirational player to have on the field. He is still going well enough At 30 years old to warrant a long outlook, Hope so anyhow - Can become a 300 game 1000+ goal kicker for the club.

pretty hard to predict as there are quite a few variables:

a) lloyd has major injury
b) gumby and neagle become stars
c) gumby and neagle don't amount to anything
d) essendon recruit a gun forward from another club (unlikely as they are not corrupt like the Visy Blues)
e) gumby, neagle have injury setbacks

so in summary a major injury could reduce it to one, great form from gumby/neagle could force him out side reducing it to 2, or he could go 3+ if he is still required.

my guess is 2 years.

Mate out of those results only a) would be a direct result of Lloyds career,
A couple of 5 odd game players becoming stars and kicking and leading like Lloyd would be some kind of fairytale that just aint going to come true & they probably wont amount to enough in the time frame & no recruits are going to come through unless they recruit Franklin & both resulting in injury enough to affect lloyd within their game time is really wild speculation.
