I read that to Jamar was wrong, look at the vfl website and Gawn was listed as playing in the Casey reserves. I don't know if it was bad reporting or the russian got a little confused! He and Blease both played for Caey reserves on the weekend.

Saw him yesterday at Box Hill. He is a very, very big and solid boy. Only played half a game. TBH he was very slow and cumberson. A lot of work is required to get him to AFL standard and fitness.

Obviously will need some work to get to AFL fitness level. Particularly following the break hes had.

In his few junior games that Ive seen (footage only) he actually looks quite agile considering his size. Particularly his vertical leap and /overhead play.

It was only his second game back IGO. Is there a chance his recovery from knee op will hold him back for a while?

The thing is, with his body, his age and the injury all considered, the time-frame that we are looking at for big Maxy is probably a lot longer than people will want to hear. I'm no expert on how bodies develope, but have been fairly serious about my own training and diet for a few years now and have had numerous training buddies of different sizes/ages and body types over the years. My estimate for Max's body to stop growing, fill out, bulk up and for him to be comfotable in it would be 4-6 years.

That's not to say we won't see him running around the G a few times next year, and a few more times the year after after that, but he won't be our Sandi any time soon I don't think.

I saw Max play a number of times for the Dragons in the TAC and he was quite mobile as you say.

First time I have seen since his TAC days and for mine needs leaning down (skinfolds and the like) and strengthening a bit like Jordan Lisle if you'd seen him in latter TAC games and now. He is just huge, not just tall but bloody huge.

He's had no preseason, 2nd game back, no great pressure or expection this year, I wasn't criticising but offering an opinion. Half a game at this stage is certainly fair enough given that the conditions were pretty slippery too. I wish him all the best!!
