Reported to be lame in the off foreleg.
Will be treated in the hope that its not too serious but its far from ideal.

Not sure if this explains his lacklustre performance, either way its hard to see him being a factor now.

Just wondering if you know whether M'Smith planned to run in the Cup without another race or was going via the McKinnon on Derby Day?

As for his condition I thought I heard Des Glesson that MS's vet said that MB was lame in both front legs from jarring up on the hard track.

Report I read says joint soreness in the off fore.
Dont know what BMS had planned, ran on Derby Day last year but that was to qualify.
He's had a good long prep so I doubt he'd need it.

Every year some horses race the clock to get there & usually struggle.
IMO these are too hard to win without everything going right

i followed it through the race, and it was sitting perfectly, and round the bend looked the goods, however it went no where in the straight. this doesn't look good for its melbourne cup chances.
