2021 what a year for the Demons

They had a dynasty at their mercy

Now they're just a bunch of overpaid degenerates going through the motions

Supporters now reduced to hissy fits at the true heroes of the game
Yes, certainly the most arrogant, bitter and entitled group of supporters on BF. And it’s not even close. And definitely with the least reason to be.

This is the club whose members voted themselves out of existence in the mid 90’s, despite them trying to subsequently rewrite history and claim it was a rigged vote. Only saved by the Hawthorn members saying “nope, we don’t want to be associated with these losers”.

The club who for nigh on 20 years from the early 2000’s were an on field and off field basket case. Bankrupt they were. Beneficiary of being bailed out financially by the AFL and the other clubs, chief amongst them being Collingwood. The very same Collingwood they so very much hate.

For at least 15 years Eddie very graciously (and foolishly) allowed Melbourne to reap the financial benefits of every Queens Birthday match, rather than alternating as he would have been entitled to enforce. Do you ever hear them express a modicum of gratitude or even acknowledgement? NFW!

The club, who because they were so crap on field, received more number 1 and top 10 draft picks (with the possible exception of Sherb’s Carlton), over a 20 year period. Even tanking to ensure they received more than they were entitled to.

Is it any wonder with all this propping up, both on and off field that they finally scored a premiership. Pity for them is they blew it after 1 flag. Instead of establishing a dynasty, which they should have been able to, they’re now heading back into the football wilderness where they belong.

Propping up? Oh like you’ve been with your Father Son recruits?

Daicos x2
Moore

You’re an injury away to Nick Daicos to being 8th at best.

Fair stretch to label us the most arrogant….. anyway. Each to their own.

Would love to know the justification for not getting suspended….
The player wasn't concussed. This outcome is consistent with other MRO rulings for this type of action. If the player isn't concussed, it's usually a fine or nothing.

Stop acting like Collingwood are the devil just because it might get you a few thumbs up. Unsurprisingly you're a Melbourne supporter. What did Melksham do recently? He ended the career of a legend for doing the exact same action. He didn't even cop a fine for that, he might not have even been penalized with a free kick against. Respectfully, get over yourself mate

Not being concussed isn’t a good reason. I’d prefer Melksham getting suspended than May if we want to look at both actions.

Exactly my point, no ones disagreeing with you there, the rulings by the officiating body are the reality though and they rule based on the outcome stupidly enough. That's not dictated by me, or by you, or by anyone else other than the foolish MRO/AFL.

I'm glad we can agree that not being concussed isn't a good reason not to suspend for an outright dangerous action. The next step is directing frustration towards the officiating body over these decisions instead of clubs and players who have no input over the decisions, and especially other footy supporters who just want to watch footy. I see a lot of moronic insults on here directed towards clubs, players and fans for shit they have no control over.

hang your head in shame AFL/MRP...
it's become a joke the way you gift Collingwood players the luxury other teams don't receive..
Read the above discussion. There have been a multitude of rulings this year where a player has gotten off purely due to the fact that the victim wasn't concussed. For the record i disagree with the notion that a lack of concussion is reason not to suspend a player for a dangerous action. Believe it or not, it's not just Collingwood players. You absolute fool.

Take your outrage hat off for 5 minutes and take a step back

Melksham pushed McGovern into a contest and ended his career, no punishment and crickets from Melbourne fans. Does it only matter when the victim is a Melbourne fan? Your club culture reeks all the way through to the fan base.

Logan Morris does the same to Darcy Moore, leaves the field with his ear bleeding, missed two games. Suffered vertigo for weeks after the game. Morris received no punishment.

The selective outrage from some footy fans is pathetic. Collingwood protection conspiracies are even more pathetic. How about ask the games officiators to act more consistently. Though it's probably not worth pleading reason to a group who are more interested in being outraged and wearing tin foil hats

Agree re the lack of consistency.

Melksham should have got a week whilst May should have got nothing. You flip those results at the tribunal and we are talking.
