If you were part of the Match committee over the trade/draft period what thoughts and ideas would you put forward?

Delistings - min of 3.

1. Ackland
2. Asaike O'hAilpin - we have too many rucks, these 2 are bottom of the pile.
3. Luke Blackwell - bottom of the midfield chain

Next in line for delisting...

4. Clinton Benjamin
5. Ryan Jackson
6. Jason Saddington.

Promotions from rookie list

1. Michael Jamison
2. Sam Jacobs
3. not sure whether to use this 1 but maybe 1 of D. Ellard or A. Joseph.

Trades

Pick 24 for Warnock  :p
- Houlihan to Melbourne for pick 35 or similar value.
-Thornton to Hawthorn for pick 34 or similar value
- Fisher and Bentick/Carrots to Sydney for pick 11 - 2 starting 22 players to a team that do not like using the draft. It MIGHT work!!
- Russell/Hartlett to a SA club, together or seperate. Depending on how they were packaged would decide what we might get for them.

There is no way I would trade pick 6 away and I do not want Kerr, ROK or anyone else of the likes.

The Draft.

Pick 6 - Hurley - I really really want this guy with this pick. Jamison, Hurley, Austin, Bower will make a great defense for years to come.

IF Hurley is taken before pick 6 then Ziebell- a tough, classy mid/fwd with a bit of x factor. I would be shocked if both of these 2 players were gone by pick 6.

2nd & 3rd picks - where they will be depends on what trades occur, but I would probably go for best available mids
If we take Ziebell with pick 6 then best available KPP with 2nd pick.

4th pick - Best available or a speculative KPP forward.

Well these are my ideas, what would you do?

You've gotta be crazy, Houlihan for pick 35? Pick 35 will not be as good as houlihan

We want to keep thornton. so unless he still really wants to leave, hold onto him.

I don't mind getting rid of Fisher or Bentick. If we can replace fisher with another forward or be able to keep Walker forward.

Saddington is a definite delisting.

They prob won't promote Ellard or Joseph because we will be able to nominate a playing rookie next year again.

Getting rid of Russel or Hartlett :thumbsu:. if anyone will take them

Agree on all counts, although I'd want an earlyish second rounder for Russell or no deal.

If space on the senior list gets tight and there isn't much promise in the rookie draft I'd consider de-listing Benjamin and re-drafting him as a rookie.

I'd also like to enquire about Nathan Djerrkura from Geelong, ideally for our 4th rounder, but he's easily worth our third.

Not going to happen mate. Especially the last one.

Houhlihan and Thornton's value to our club outweighs the value of the picks we'd get for them.
