There's a long and distinguished list. It usually lasts until they actually play a senior game or two.
It was Elton last year (purely based on 1 seconds worth of play in a NAB Cup game).
Other notables include:
David Gourdis.
Dean Putt. He was going to be our 6'7 winger.
Matt Arnott (he was No1 earlier this year - overtaken by The Beano.)
Tom Roach.
Marty McGrath was a sensation in the 2s.
Justin Plapp is the most famous.
Sometimes the fans get it right - we were all screaming for Tuck to get a game, well before he got the call-up.
I'm excited about the prospect of McBean. But it's good to have a bit of a realistic perspective which the above post shows. The way I see it, McBean is a High risk High return project player. He could end up being an absolute steal and gem or any number of things could go wrong and preventing him being effective at AFL level.
