If you buy these, are you required to have the relevant member actually enter the ground/attend the game with you?

Also, is there some sort of special members walkway that would mean I wouldn't have to mix with the proles on the way up to the stadium?

You can enter on a guest pass without the member being with you.

By MCC rules the member is to be there, but you'll be fine. Been a member for years and have always gotten mates visitors tickets even if i am not there. Never had an issue.

There is no special walkway.

Don't need the member there. They just prefer the member to be there as they are responsible for how you behave. I took 5 mates last week and 4 of them were on my card and the on another family members card and that person wasn't there.

Yep same rules. Although on Anzac Day i suggest getting a reserved seat for the extra $10.

Most likely. They might check that your friends actual tickets on big games like that but they're only going to ask to see the member who let you in if they get kicked out for being a dickhead or something.

That's my understanding as well. I buy a lot of visitor tickets that my dad uses/gives to his mates and never had a problem. As long as people behave, the MCC are hardly going to care, they are making money from the visitor tickets and it boosts the numbers in the MCC so there aren't big blocks of empty seats that the public like to whinge about.

I have only ever once been asked for ID in the MCC and that was in the members only bar when I had dropped into a Melbourne/Freo game (i.e. no crowd) on the way to the airport to watch a Geelong interstate game on fox.

They will let you in with no pants on but just don't try to enter with no collared shirt underneath your jumper and jacket that's a no no.

You need a signed letter from the member, witnessed by a justice of the peace. Don't bother otherwise.
