MRP / Trib. McGlynn 4 weeks

MRP, full of part time employees who have NFI about the game... This is absolutely ridiculous !!

We've seen QCs play this out at the MRP/tribunal before.

"intentional" just refers to the "intent to strike", and impact is where the contact was made. These are completely separate aspects.

The fact MyGlynn's real "intent" was to strike Scully's shoulder/arm, and if successful would probably have been regarded as part of a legal attempt to tackle, is apparently not relevant in MRP assessments.

"reckless" would feel right to most of us, but it simply won't play out that way. Hopefully we've learnt our lessons about that and won't challenge.

MRP has lost the plot. I thought he may have received 1 week, but 3 is ridiculous. It was clearly reckless and not intentional. I can't wait for the MRP overhaul at the end of this year. JOKE!

Is this the first time this year that a player has been charged with Striking - Intentional when contesting the ball (well, going at the man with the ball) rather than Reckless or Negligent?

Seems excessive, but i was expecting two down to one week (not depending on previous points, if there are any).

If he's going to miss through injury anyway then it's worth contesting to avoid carryover points for finals.

Well it is all revealed.

The AFL does live in a fantasy land full of chocolate houses and cafe lattes rain from the sky.

A guy that deliberately elbows someone is seen as less of a threat than a player attempting to tackle - thus we punish the guy doing the tackle with a more severe penalty.

It is beyond comprehension and makes us the supporters and fans that ultimately pay these guys salaries look like utter twits. They truly believe we are simple.

It is a disgrace.

I'm a bit confused, as the only footage I can find shows McGlynn falling over a Giants player who goes to ground between him and the ball, but the report talks of a high impact, intentional strike. Am I missing something??
Yes the part where his fist meets Scully's face

This is where I sit too. I have no problem with McGlynn getting rubbed out for it. I think 2 down to 1 week with an early plea is about right. (Forget the carry over points because that's a joke. Every case should be judged on his merits) I would argue that it was reckless or negligent rather that intentional. When you compare it to McKernan's elbow, which was demmed reckless, it's an absolute joke.

No point making comparisons. Just takes you further down the rabbit hole..

Watched the replay last night, the first time they rolled the replay footage it didn't really show the impact to Scullys face.

The second one which was replayed after Mcglynn was subbed showed a clear fist hitting Scully's face Absolutely flush. Looked bad.

Penalty should have been 3 reduced to 2 i thought but i guess it didn't help that Scully was subbed out after because of it.

Are they ****ing kidding themselves! The MRP is just about as fixed as the Ashes umpiring. He was going for the god darn ****ing tackle and scully ducked and went low. It was a complete accident. MRP are a bunch of sillys.

This could be a good thing, as it will make benny even more determined come September, and it should give us a chance to finally see membrey strut his stuff.

Don't wanna see Cunningham play before membrey this week, but that's just my opinion!

I doubt the flog mrp even watch the incidents, they probably just go by the extent of the injury with the exception of when mummy got his checkbone broken by petrenko- they ignored that one!

They truly are a joke along with the rules committee, the big fat greek and his muppets.

But its ok because we still win premierships, the more conspirators against us, the more inspired we become.
