If he had stayed and had a decent year, he would have been a dead set cert to take the captaincy in 2010.

Reasonable hands but no better than average by foot. Fairly accurate but not too much penetration in his kicking. Will creep forward and kick a goal though.

Yeah, he's a real 'one of the boys' type of personality, at least from what I've gathered. I'd say he would be quite a bit more vocal than Judd.

He also appeared to be very passionate about Melbourne, as was illustrated by his donation to the club, so I think this made him a prime candidate for the role of captain in the eyes of many.

In that sense, it was a bit of a surprise to see him go, but I suppose when his role in the side was starting to become more insignificant than what he deemed desirable, Brock decided it was time to move on.

Yeh I thought about that before I wrote it and to be fair I think the biggest issue is his penetration like I said.

He's no Aaron Davey but generally I think he can hit a target reasonably well - sometimes he gets alot of his posessions under pressure around stoppages or packs rather than receiving on the outside. I think this can give the perception that hes poor by foot but I think its more just he cant kick as low and hard as the better kickers.
