I love Andrew. I think he is fabulous. He played will in the International Series and deserved his award.

However, if I have a critisism of him, it is that I honestly don't think he puts in 100% ALL the time. Sometimes I'd love to shove a rocket right up his **** just to get him moving. When HE wants to he can tear a game apart.

I'll probably be shot...but its just my opinion.

I couldnt agree more.
Its not that he's soft.
I seen him get floored in laying a tackle on Peverill that wouldve crushed lesser players against the bombers this year and I thought...thats it, you wont see him play out the game but to his credit, he actually played better!

If he is to win a brownlow though, I cant see him winning it from the back half and he wont do it getting tagged week in week out either because I dont think he copes with the attention.

Ah, plain, unadulturated dribble once again. Seem to recall you calling for Macca's head a couple of seasons ago, so your memory lapses have come to the forefront again.

No one in their right mind (and that doesnt include you) would say that Roo isnt the one the all the best captain we ever had and will have for some time to come.

I know you just say these stupid things to get a reaction, but even for you this is too stupid to contemplate.

mark i wasnt posting here a couple of seasons ago so perhaps you've mixed me up with another character? I did say at the start of the yr that his days in the middle were over when there was this nonsense about him being in brownlow condition for this yr. That was right too. :D

And Roo is the best captain we ever had, but macca never got the chance, he appeared to be a natural leader in the IR series despite being a different game. Does roo strike you as a natural leader>? He doesnt to me, but unless you are in the team i suppose we wouldnt know. Hes a carey type leader imo.

Remember the "did-it" factor do we?

IMO, Roo appeared destined to one day captain the AFC when he debuted as a 17 year old. He always showed signs of being a strong leader by setting the example IMO. If I recall correctly he smashed all the weights records, was an outstanding contributor in training, and never backed down or took a backward step, ever. I think you are right with the comparison to Carey, both were players who lead from the front, set the example and are capable of winning games off their own boot. Just more reason for him to remain captain until, well, when ever he decides to give it up to the next generation, which will be a few years yet I think. I dont even think replacing him with Macca would have ever been considered by the AFC, and nor should it have.

jack_did _it was only with us for a week or so, it was a bit of a shame really cause he had so much untapped potential one feels. I only joined around draft time last yr, so i could never had said that about macca. His time in the middle is finsihed though, still the clubs best player ever though.

you could never replace him with macca now but before the appointment it was conceivable that they could of gone with macca instead. Roo always said he grew into the role. And i agree he would of been a great player regardless, but macca seemed to be better with leadership as a role in the IR game. Who knows though now, its all history.
