Wasn't a lot in it. High contact, but definately low impact.

Probably 1 week though. Or 4 considering the MRP's history.

Positives-No free kick, low impact, not injured, McPharlap's good record
Negatives- high, late
1 week->guilty plea-> reprimand.

The angle is not ideal but I just watched it about 5 times on my computer and his forearm makes contact across the top of the Swan's chest. I am pretty sure that there wasn't any contact to the head.

Is it one of those bumps where you clench your arm for the bump and it kind of pushes out afterwards as part of preparing for the contact?

Wasn't dirty, but looked highish, but when you're 195cm and bumping a hobbit, there is nothing you can do about it besides getting down on your knees.

Where did his arm make contact? Bicep/Tricep height?

Buddy got done for something equally soft a year or two ago, so I'm definately worrying, but really, it wasn't anything more than a solid bump was it?

Well, he won't get off scott free having a look at that vid. Shame to lose him for the Derby. Hope he isn't going to be out for too long.

Unfortunately that makes no difference. The onus is on the player making contact to avoid the head - that is pretty clear in the ruling, what the MRP do with it is anybody's guess of course.

I too thought the initial contact was with the arm/body which may help Elivs, lowish impact I think is fair to say so I think best we can hope for is low points, early plea/good record = gets off for next week. But that would be best case I reckon.

Yeah, I'm still not sure on all the tribunal stuff these days, how they differentiate between all the levels of severity and such is all very ad hoc to me. Using a rigid set of paramaters to judge such variable incidents doesn't seem right.

Hitting someone with a nice meaty shoulder no matter how hard you are going, is never going to be as bad nailing someone with the point of your elbow.

Compare the Mayne knee with Mcpharlin, and tell me which is worse.

Elbow out, high contact, late and feet off the ground.

Not a full bottle on the MRP points system, but can't see him playing next week.

Yea agree, the rigid points system is supposed to take the ambiguity out of it, but it doesn't work because real life isn't that clear cut. It's a major flaw in the whole thing. Common sense would say McPharlin should get off with a reprimand and some carry over points, but the points system means that he could be up for a week or two ... who knows?

Big loss - Luke will get 2 weeks for that. He has been pretty lucky in recent years - was lucky not to go for his hit on Brown in rd 1 so I giess you could say this is karma.

1-2 weeks imo. This will be huge blow as we need all hands on deck for next week to contain the Coasters forwards. Looks like its Ibbotson on Darling and maybe Lynch at times:(

Yeh i think he's gone for at least a week - didnt quinten lynch get done a week for his head high hit to marc murphy? wouldve thought those two incidents are comparable.

But what about that bloke who kicked pav in the nads! couldnt believe that when i saw it- it was literally like the bloke had a free shot

^ Was just glad Pavy wasn't injured mate haha. Also Jack Darling could be dropped, unlikely but he has been really quiet recently and been subbed off on occassion
