Seen a bit of tipping in the x-lotto tip and thought. Well, since its the race that stops the nation, who do our fellow BF goers-experts on all think will win.
Know theres only a day to go but Havent seen a thread so thought y not. :)

For me, well I like On A Jeune. Dont know y, did last year. But just like the name I suppose. Has the lucky barrier no. Or is it saddle no. Came first in geelong!! Knowing my luck will finish 12 but Either way thats my tip. :)

Last 2 years I have had money on Makybe Diva so I cannot break the trend.

3rd Vinnie Roe
2nd Leica Falcons
1st Makybe Diva (winner)

i got $20 on Leica Falcon at 6.50 for a win :)

got a good feeling about him (or her?)

the track conditions wont suit makybe diva and if diva wins it will be truly remarkable. Makybe divas only favourite by a mile cos its the horse that EVERYONE knows and all the amateurs bet on it. any pro will tell you makybe will struggle but who knows :D

Thats what I feel too, but she is such a great horse it would be silly not to include her in any planned trifectas.

Winner will come from 5 horses id say

predictably - MD, Railings, Vinnie Roe, Leica Falcon, Eye Popper

My safe money is on the diva but my outsider is Distinction

Longshot worth a punt each way is Mr Celebrity at 30/1. Will probably be even longer than that come race day.

Definitely one to put in your trifectas.

the heart say Diva, i really want her to win. The head says Leica Falchon, came storming home in the Caufield Cup, the extra 800m will suit it. For an outsider get on Strasbourg, can you ever discount Bart?

I'd be surprised if the winner comes from outside those 5 horses.

Personally I'm a huge gee for Leica Falcon to win. Outstanding 5th in the Caufield Cup and looked the perfect 2 miler on that run, plus will appreciate the bigger Flemington track.

Railings will run a good race and probably look the winner at some stage up the straight, while Eye Popper's run in the Caufield Cup was huge - covered more ground than the early settlers.

If Makybe Diva wins, she'll re-write the history books - and just might - while Vinnie Roe showed with his 2nd last year that he'll be around the mark.

But for me, Leica Falcon each way is the way to go.

btw for all those crow eaters in s.a,,, they are aclimatizing the track so that vinnie roe and makybe diva can run. been soaking the track for the last 2 days to get the coniditons soft and slow,,, back the diva,, for the roughy,, it owuld be ahard one

this has been without a doubt the moist testing cup ina while,,,, many can win this one,, all of the above mentioned,, leica falcon, eye popper and railings look good. Railings was a once off at the caulfield cup however, and wont place. Eye popper had a tremndous run in the first 4th of the caulfield, and looks primed for the distance,,, while leica falcon looks very very promising also, with a couple of strong runs.

The ebst darky would have to be mr celebrity,, one of the favourites last weekend, moved down the peaking oprder for the cup, but at 30/1,, have a 5 each way bet and collect 60-100 bucks after the race,, looks a good one :)

Track seems to be confirmed as dead for now, tho may dry a touch to be good later but very humid in Melb so maybe not too much hopefully.

I'll stick with Makybe Diva (Ive backed her with $20).

Then Vinnie Roe and 3rd Eye Popper.

Roughie Leica Falcon and Railings. If track was fast I'd almost be inclined to pick Leica falcon, good weight.

This mare is a true out and out chamion. What a huge heart she has.

But please dont compare her to anyone especially him.

She is her own champion and he was his in his day.

It's like comparing todays footballers with yesteryears.

Most of us didnt see them so let them remain legends and at least you can say you saw history in the making. Lets leave it at that. ;)

makybe=phar lap. no one saw the best of phar lap, was just coming into his prime.

probably the best big race performer though in history through out her career! had 10 on the nose so im stoked about now, was a last minute decision at 2!

Why oh why did I not listen. :o

Only did trifecta and exacta.
My "surer" things were Makybe Diva, Xcellent and Leica Falcon (first, 3rd and 4th), with my longshots being Mr Celebrity and Distinction who didn't fire a shot between them.
Got nothing back at all. :(
