Melbourne drafting blunders mount

Ziebs didn't have a great game but apart from one tin arse speccie, Hansen killed White and took some excellent defensive marks. Even the commentators noted this.

The only teams we have to worry about beating in 2010 are the other developing sides West Coast, Essendon, Richmond and Melbourne.

I'm not really worried about the rest.

Hansen managed to keep the third option tall quiet in a game where all the ball was directed to Bradshaw. Not a really big boast.

Lachie Hansen in his 33rd game played against a highly rated key forward prospect in White. And killed him.

Not only that, Lachie chimed in with some very gutsy and very well needed contested marks in the backline.

I'll happily concede a classier, more experienced SWans outfit deservedly won today and that in Hanneberry and Jetta yoiu have some A grade young talent to go with gthe old faithfuls.

But also give you a tip: the BF 'consensus' about Hansen is now so inaccurate as to be moronic.

So, Shotties, let me get this straight, if you wouldn't swap White for Brian Lake does that make Lachlan Hansen the second coming of Ross Glendinning

Flog.:o

A comment saying I wouldn't want him traded, a joke about another Swans board poster, me saying "Sweet" to him re-signing and me saying mancrush. How are all these comments in 2009 relevant to the fact that Goodes and Bradshaw moved into the forward line making White the third option?

In what way? I may have missed it, but I honestly couldn't see where Hansen consistently denied White possession. As I said before, his low possession count would have come from the fact that almost all traffic inside 50 went to Bradshaw or a resting Seaby while Goodes was in the middle and vice versa when Seabs was rucking.

More to do with the fact that at the time he was our sole tall forward and coming along nicely and our backline is an area that wasn't in dire need of steadying up. Though, while you're riffling through my posts, if you could direct me to where I made a like for like ability comparison I'd be happy to apologise to you.

Surely a bloke who is rated better than Brian Lake would have demanded more of the ball than a bloke that is playing on Scott Thompson?
