Melbourne First Letter

This is an extract out of the letter Melbourne Members received from Melbourne First this week.

"Melbourne First was appalled at the financial result published by the Szondy administration this financial year"

Well Hello!
Firstly $400,000 of that is Joe's problems. I don't mind so much the $300,000 "donation", that is his choice, but the remainder is for a Corporate Box he hired for this season. It is a disgrace that he has not paid for that.
The remainder is for an abnormanl expense. It was not the Clubs fault that the Victorian Government decided to ban more pokie machines in that area. This from a ALP Government who one of the Candidates, Greg Sword is the President of. What a disgrace. The political party that put us in such a financial state has its National President running for the Club's board!
And finally, Gutnick was President for over half of the Financial Year. So don't go blaming Mr Szondy, when it was infact Gutnick who was President for a majority of that financial year.

Jesus, I hope Gutnick is not voted back in! It's a bit low for them to accuse Szondy of that. Like you said, it was not even his fault.

why the hell dont u go to demonology and stay there then. I mean seriously. i go there and all i find is political dribble, bickering, accusations and well pretty much plain old crap! i do not find much information at all.......at least we talk about football on here.

You are avoiding the issue I raised Ms Storm.

Don't talk to me about leading people astray. That quote about the finances is a prime example of leading its members astray.

Dee you just don't like me because I stick up for Joe and seem to know a lot of stuff about the goings on at our club, which by the way is the truth...and if you don't like that, bad luck

You'll get a better explanation of it if you listened to 3aw last Sat. when they interviewed Szondy for 45 mins. and Stooke and Phil Eddy from MF later in the show.

I have the tape at home and will listen again and come back to you, or if you like will explain to you at the meeting...its rather lengthy.
The corporate box Joe hired, payment is not due yet. There's more also regarding the "payment" he owes of about $ 225,000 or so, WELL...IT WAS A DONATION AFTERALL...THE $2.75m WASN'T IT, and when he's ready, he will donate the rest!!! Fair Go!!
Its been one big stuff up and beat up by Szondy to discredit Joe.
All TV has done up to just the last couple of weeks is slag off at Joe (mind you Joe to his credit has not done the same about Szondy, but critized letting Farmer go and a couple of other policies)

Just like any other pledge, Joe has the right to pass over the money whenever he chooses. Personally, I dont blame him for not wanting to after all the manipulating and scheming that's been going on behind his back. The club takes his money, backstabs him, then demands the few thousand that he has left to owe. Would you feel like donating the extra money?

All the accumulated expenses that Szondy is referring to is a couple of corporate boxes that he purchased during the year . Legally, they come under the clubs expenses and he is under no obligation to pay them unless he becomes president again.

I have stated that it is his choice with the donation. I am not upset about that. What i am not happy about is that MF wrongly accused Szondy for last years financial result, when that is not the case as such.
As for Joe's comment on Farmer, if the Pope was President of MFC, he still would have gone to Freo
