I no im getting ahead of myself fellas but im willing to wait to see this side play together and be BETTER than what hawthorn and geelong are today...any thoughts if ive left anyone out my apoligies this side just off the top of my head...
retirements from now till then green, bruce, jamar, mcdonald, robbo, miller, whelan.
any thoughts on this !!!!

I'm pretty sure that by then we'd have some new players in. Not just Butcher.
understand that but mature players 2 years or so under there belt...have a look at the quality in that side how many first round picks do u want theres 12 including the bench players.that is EXCITING

there is no chance buckley will be in our side in 2013, his lucky to even make our current side

BLACK - Confident they will be premiership quality footballers in 2012/2013:
RED - Reasonably confident but not certain:
BLUE - Hopeful they will make it
FB: Garland Martin Strauss
HB: Grimes Frawley Bennell
C: Morton McLean Buckley
HF: Davey Jurrah Bate
FF: Wonaeamirri Watts Maric
Foll: Spencer Blease Jones
Int: PJ Bartram Rivers Moloney

Also there are plenty of other players I would fit in the Blue category eg. Sylvia. Plus some quality draft picks.

I think Bruce, Green, Whelan and Miller will still be around by then, possibly in their final years. None of them have even played 200 games to date.
And Jamar aswell? He hasn't even played 100!

I do agree with Robbo and Maca though.

Bruce is pushing 30 if not already this year, I doubt he'll still be around by then.

Wow. this is optimism at its finest.

Lets focus on how we're going to win a game/not get demolished every week first

So far I'm confident on the following spots:
And reasonably confident on the ones in red:
The ones in blue I'm more hopeful on
FB: Garland Martin Strauss
HB: Grimes Frawley Bennell
C: Morton McLean Buckley
HF: Davey Jurrah Bate
FF: Wonaeamirri Watts Maric
Foll: Spencer Blease Jones
Int: PJ Bartram Rivers Moloney

You think that Morton won't be a part of a premiership team? [EDIT: sorry, I misinterpreted your team lineup]

He may not be but guys like Bartram and Jurrah are better chances? wow

As for Buckley, I can't wait to get him back into the team. He gives us much needed run and suits this gameplan that Bailey is trying to implement. We may not like the gameplan but Buckley suits it.

Bruce - Will be 33/34 and whilst he is a natural athlete he will start to slow down, I don't think he will have the tricks to play up forward and I'm hoping we have faster and better kicking players in the backline and midfield. End of 2010 might be a good year for Bruce to go, if not this year.

Green - Will be 31/32 and some chance because he has the talent up forward and can kick some goals. If the body holds up I think he will still be around.

Whelan - Can't get on the park due to injury now, what chance is he is 3-4 years. I think this year will be his last

Miller - Would have to improve to keep his spot ahead of Watts and others and I don't see it happening. At the end of this year we should thank him for his serviceable work last year and this year and send him to the gold coast.

Jamar - Needs only slight improvement by Spencer and Meesen to be overtaken and there is no point having 4 average ruckmen on your list for the next 4 years. If I was coaching right now he would be GONE at the end of this year.

agree, Morton will be one of the topline players and Buckley will definitely be there as well

Sorry for the confusion MM, I updated it to try and make it easier to read.

I also can't wait to see Buckley back into the side but I don't think you can say with any certainty that come 2012 he will be part of what is hopefully a very good midfield. That said one good run of games where he finds the footy, makes the right decisions and kicks well might be all it takes to propel him along.

I just hope by the end of the year more of our players jump up my categories like Garland did last year.
