McLean set to return

"McLean was a chance to play last week," Blues' football manager Steven Icke said on Tuesday.

"But we just held him over for another week and if he gets through all the training this week then he's up for selection.

Ryan Houlihan is set to resume from a hamstring strain, but Chris Yarran (thigh) is unlikely according to Icke and Kane Lucas will definitely miss this week's clash with West Coast.

I'm actually relieved Yarran was playing injured and wasn't just being lazy..

(Also a good way to keep Yaz as far away from those West Coke tossers as possible ;))

Good on Brock, hope he has a triumphant return.

Good news :thumbsu:

Injuries can derail an entire season.

Just needa get back Bower, Waite, Lucas, Houlihan, White and anyone else that i've surely missed.

spot on

Fisher's good news is bad news for rookie defender Simon White, who not only suffered a knee injury at the weekend, but also comes off the senior list to accommodate Fisher.
:(

Damn. I'd rather White, but it will be good to see Fish make the ton.

Once White gets a little more strength, and some more confidence as well i think we could have a real good player on our hands. Next year could be a big one for him i think. Struggles a bit one on one and with the ball in 'fast thinking' situations, but all the signs are pointing in the right direction thats for sure.

Get Emu and 1AW back in the side and she's apples.

What really dissapoints me is how our club treat the supporters in regards to injuries. I don't know what game their playing? I am actually getting sick of it. Where is Hampson and or MCLEAN. First it is Hip then a quad, as supporters we need to know what is going on. Also pays in our favour to realese the truth, if we have a multitude on injuries then psychologically opposing teams may take us a bit easier, thinking we have not this player or that player. Also it may stregthen our resolve to play that extra 1-2 % harder knowing we are not at full strength?

At the moment i don't know what we are being told, if it is the truth or not? But if we continue to lose players during the game then we will not win many games. The competition is so tight that losing players during the game limits your rotations etc.

I think the next 3-4 games are winnable, setting us up for second half of the season assault!

What I like about him is his attacking. He never wastes an opportunity to run off and create - the sort of confidence you don't often see in a rookie, and exactly the right instinct for today's game. I'm impressed by how well he's adjusted to AFL.

He's too small to play on the monsters, could definitely stick closer to his opponent, and also play in front more, but from what I've seen he's filled Thornton's role better than Thornton himself has.

Can we please put Thornton back on to the rookie list instead?

There is every possibilty that he will be back after the split round as he may be nominated/elevated off the rookie list as we do not have any veterans ;)

Let's hope Fisher can be dangerous when he returns.
The number of times I've spat out my beer at the footy after watching him pluck a pack mark out of nowhere, only to miss from 15m out is ridiculous. If he can't find form quickly, I hope they'll bite the bullet and axe him instead of wasting a spot on our list.

2 games suffice?

.......and here I was thinking McLeans season was ruined.

Amazing what surgeons can do these days........just amazing.

Without a single incision no less!
