Yes I can agree, not a bad day out at all
My only disappointment was my inclusion of Baker (needed some boards and FG%) instead of Houston, who naturally shot the lights out again. Still, my lead is rather healthy this week

Flip Murray - 24 on 9-14 shooting, 4 boards and 6 assists. Putting up Ray Allen numbers in Sugar's absence: 23 points on 54% shooting is outstanding for an undersized shooting guard

When Ray Allen comes back, what do they do with Flip? The Sonics would be stupid to reduce his minutes if he continues to average 20.

Could he play the PG and send Barry to the bench as the 6th man?

Is there enough minutes for Murray if he was to come of the bench? Perhaps spelling Barry, Allen and even Lewis.

I think he'll probably play the Dez Mason role, the first guy off the bench who adds real energy to the second unit. Maybe Antonio Daniels won't get the minutes it was assumed he would get since signing over the off-season.

As for 'Melo and 'Bron in the ROY race, it is gonna be so much fun to watch. Don't discount TJ Ford either.

I feel terribly sorry for AD. When in SA we thought he would be the 2nd star alongside Duncan for the future. Our perimeter star, ala Kobe and Shaq.

He has range on his shot, can slash into the paint, can dunk. Everything you'd want.

The problem? He's a tweener. We wanted him to play PG, he's better at SG where we already had Elie and then Derek Anderson.
Thus, AD's development was hampered because he was struggling for minutes and being played in weird roles.

In Portland, he was stuck behind even more players, Bonzi, Anderson, Mouse, etc. Stuck in dopeland, Daniels development was hampered again.

I saw an interview with AD and his wife on the net earlier in the offseason. Talked about how he and his wife (She's DAMN fine) wanted to settle down and build a career.
I'm glad he got out of Portland, because I think he can have an impact, but he's not getting minutes with Ray injured, and Flip playing mad.

AD can play. He suffered the "Trent Croad" problem where the fans, coaches and everyone expected too much from him due to his potential.

I still love his Statue of Liberty dunk though. :o

Note: Glad he got his #33 back. He wears it in tribute to his deceased brother.

Yeah I love AD, seems like a really great guy. His problem early was he got thrown straight into a struggling franchise, Vancouver with the no.4 pick), and really wasn't ready for it, needed time to develop. I always thought he was one of the best 6th men in the league playing in SA, provides energy. But you're right, he doesn't quite have the ballhandling ability to play point guard or the offensive game to play shooting guard.

Upon thinking about it I think Ridnour will likely be the one frozen out in the end by Flip's play. He's playing about 20mpg so far, but AD has missed the first 3 games with back spasms. When he comes back in he's our best perimeter defender - Barry's a poor one on one defender with the quicker guards, and Ray and Flip are nothing special. He'll get his minutes as our best defensive option at either guard position - the fact that Nate was a point guard himself thrust straight into a starter's role as a rookie I think will ensure he brings Rid along slowly.
