Just got my raffle tickets from the club.

I tend to just buy the book of tickets myself (not the 'raffle ticket selling' type), but the prizes are pretty good this year.

I don't know how many tickets the club manages to sell, but if they sold them all it'd be about $700k going into the clubs coffers.

This is where I draw the line and get slightly ticked off every year.

Buy a membership, buy seats, buy merchandise, buy match day raffle tickets, and then they still expect you to buy raffle tickets??

Get in line behind all the fundraising efforts of the kids, neieces, nephews, workplace, community etc fundraising.

You got your membership money, you can get the raffle tickets back unsold!

I probably spend a couple of grand a year on memberships, seats, raffle tickets, merchandise etc., and whilst i probably can't really afford it, the club has given me unbelievable entertainment and joy over the past 20 years so i don't mind putting my hand in my pocket for something like this, especially since it's only another 40 quid.

The one thing i always drew the line at was contributing to the players end of season trip fund, though.
They all get paid far more than i ever will, we pay a fortune to watch them play, then they want us to help pay for their holiday? They're havin' a laugh.

nah, $4 a ticket raffle with a petrol guzzling explorer as the prize.

heck, id prefer the signed guernesy over prizes 1, 2 and 3.

It's actually an Escape, not an Explorer.

The fuel economy isn't great, but it's better than with the Explorer.

I also tend to agree. My sister has got the caramello koala fundraiser at the moment and my mum usually just buys the whole box anyway.

I don't really like any prize besides the 'early one' with the tickets to the grand final!

Are you serious? hrmm i never knew that took place. Anyway i heard something ages ago about the boys not having an 'actual' or official end of season trip?

They didn't have one last year, but many times in the past they've had trips and had 'events' to raise money from members.

I'll contribute to virtually everything involved in the GFC, but not the old school end of season trip fund.
