Hi,

I've been a Silver Cartlon member for the last three years along with my girlfriend and her sister and sisters partner. We're weighing up what type of membership to get for 2011.

Ideally we wouldn't mind having seats that are a little closer to the action. Just wondering what kind of membership people got this year, how much was it, and what are the pros/cons and how good were your seats?

We are also considering AFL membership. What kind of seats do you get there?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I've got an MCC membership and a MCC upgrade with Carlton. Will probably have to upgrade if Carlton are likely to get anywhere in the coming years.

Yeah, I'm working on MCC membership... could take a while though. Not really going to help us in 2011.

AFL membership with Carlton support is by far the best option, Pay 5.50 a game to reserve a seat on the wing level 1 or 2, you can bring mates and sit with them, you get a seat via the same method at away games, and if we make a granny you are basically assured of a ticket

ps, it entitles you to 40 home and away games for the year

So how much did you pay for AFL membership this year?

Let me get this right, you get general admin entry to any game, or you can upgrade to reserved for 5.50 per game? Sounds pretty good to me.

mate, most games you dont need to reserve a seat, only at telstra dome and against coll, ess, haw and richmond.......you still get admission.....ill be perfectly honest and say i dont know how much it costs me, it comes off my credit card every year so no idea.....

so if you want a reserved seat in the afl members guaranteed you pay 5.50 per seat,

It's actually $6 to reserve a seat and will probably be something silly like $6.50 next year. Love AFL inflation. I joined AFL this year and paid $600 but it goes down $280 odd dollars after your joining year. By far the best value if you go to other games. I go to about 3 a week and it's saved me a heap of money. Get your Etihad tickets WELL in advance, MCG excellent for walk up.

You won't be getting a ticket to the Granny with an AFL membership. Not for a while anyway

Unless were in it. There's allocation for Silver Members with participating club support. And if it's a crap GF then any Silver Members have a chance.....
