membership packages have just been released and is it just me or have the prices for membership gone up a bit? the membership people are obsesed with judd but aslong as his a blue they can put his face on anything and it would sell like hot cakes, good marketing they got that one right:thumbsu:

This might sound stupid but im happy the prices have gone up because the club we'll probably get 40000 members and that is extra money.

Thank god Capains Club are moving away from the cheersquad. Worst place mixing with them, what with all the punch-ons every week between them.

What's everyone going for the scarf or the cap :p

Can someone explain to me which membership to get for 1st priority gf tickets? (not saying we'll make it). the membership benefits thing says captains club gets 1st round priority, but just looking at the prices - captains club is only 4 dollars dearer (for concession) then just regular gold? hardly makes sense. the membership benefits thing has social written beside it too tho, does that mean u have to purchase a social on top of that?

as u can tell im confused...anyone?

Scarf - and as with the diminishing quality of all merchandising these days it will be embarrassingly short and lightweight. I call it the Choc-Wedge syndrome.

Also - FUUUUUUCK I hate PDF files. Thank-you.

Guys what do the numbers mean next to the packages? For example "Long Distance 5" or "Adult 11" or "Adult 18" ???

Adult 11 gives you our home games only I think, whereas Adult 18 gives you access to all our Melbourne games. Long distance 5 gets you into 5 games but you are not expected to be able to get to them anyway. Happy to be corrected.

Thanks. That makes sense. How do you know that? I couldn't find anything saying that on the site or on the downloaded brochure. Or is it just something that everybody knows from doing it every year? (I'm 18 - this my first year doing it myself)

Sweet mate. I think like you I had no idea and just eventually had to figure that it couldn't have meant much else. They do take certain things for granted at times.

If you're a uni student is that considered concession?

Also, which package do I go for if I want reserved seats to all 18 games in melbourne?

Yeah, i'm silver concession atm uni card is fine.

I'm wondering which package to get also, I want to get reserved seats if I can get a few mates to get them also, but the price difference in all the reserved isn't very much. So I guess I'll have a look at it when I finish uni ( tomorrow WOHHOOO :D) and check it out.

Correct. I'm a 'Long Distance 5' member - being from Adelaide - which gets me into 5 home games in Melbourne. Perfect for me, even though I usually only get over for 1 or 2 games.

My understanding is that they offer this package as official membership records can only count members with a minimum entitlement of 5 games. I was a Blue member for several years before I found this out. I upgraded cos I want to be counted :thumbsu:

I shoudl add that the club counts Blue members as members, but the official AFL stats do not. It was brought in to stop teams like Hawthorn offering cheap packages for pets, then counting them as members! That's my understanding, anyway.

Pretty sure it's Captains Club. It was origanally called Social Club but only last year changed to Captains Club.

Moving from concession to adult is so harsh. Paid about $130 odd as a concession holder last year, this year $302 for a silver 18 gamer, so much for my idea to upgrade to premium gold :/

I think you will find it won't be too long before we will look back at $500 memberships as the good old days. The prices never decrease and ultimately members consider it supportive to pay them. If like most things in this copycat country we follow the US, memberships will become the realm of the rich. I was going to live in the States a couple of years ago and wanted to become a Jets member only to discover there is something like a 30 year wait even if I COULD afford the cost. Suck it up and enjoy the now.

Have been looking at the membership options, and cant seem to find anything for interstate memberships (only long distance). Any info would be greatly appreciated. Ta

if i get a silver membership i can go to any 11 home games of my choice right?

also, i finish year 12 this year and start uni next year. what do i do to qualifiy as concession?

There are only 11 home games so no choice required

I think I'll just get the silver adult 11 again. Not really surprised it's gone up since it does that every year. Although I doubt I'll goto many games, I still want to support my club.

It's Captain's Club - Reserved I think, the old Social Gold membership. I think that's first, then regular Captain's Club (old Social Silver)

I'm in the regular one and didn't have a problem getting tix in 93 and 95 :thumbsu:

BTW, I think Captains Club is a really shit name...:(
